Everyone is signing the contract....

As all might be aware, my dear brother will be getting married in 3 weeks time. Chop and confirm on the contract...

My gf - Adeline, will be goign through the customary wedding this Sept. So that means the Hong Kong trip that I'm dying to go during August will be cancelled. Any one like to take me to Hong Kong? Transport + Accom must be dirt cheap! I wanna spend all my $$$ on shopping.

Anyway with everyone getting married be it ROM or customary.... I think I'm hitting the mid-20s crisis as how Linda term it.... How? Not that I'm dying to get married, but why ain't I attached? By the way ideal marriage age is 28. So, logically, if you do your mathematics, you need about 3-4 yrs time or minimum 2 yrs to know the person well, whether you can take his living habits, characters, if you can get along well with his friends, parents, sibilings and relatives, isn't now the time to get attached?!

With due respect to all the male species... F the s'porean guys or maybe F my luck.... those I met after my break up with bengz were jerks! NOt that bengz was fantastic, is so we wouldn't have broken off taking into consideration my attitude and F-up temper. Is that so difficualt to meet a good nature guy?

As I read the eulogy of Dr. Wee Kim Wee, I began to ponder why loving husband all die early? As the grand-daughter realted the love Dr Wee have for Mrs. Wee, it really touches me and make me long for someone like him... minus off the beat me to dying first.

So now the question is How do you quantify a good and loving husband?

I totally agree with the common women saying literally translated as "Good guys are all others husband now" But then again, if good guys are all others husband then how do you explain when husband have affairs behind their wives back?

If Good guys = good husband = extra marital affiar? Then, Good guys = extra marital affairs? Hmmm....

Are you getting old???

Kids nowadays were so different from our time.... what childhood do they have???

According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 60's, 70's and early 80's probably shouldn't have survived, because our baby cots were covered with brightly coloured lead-based paint which was promptly chewed and licked. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, or latches on doors or cabinets and it was fine to play with pans.

When we rode our bikes, we wore no helmets, just flip-flops and fluorescent 'spokey dokey's' on our wheels

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or airbags - riding in the passenger seat was a treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle and it tasted the same. We ate chips, bread and butter pudding and drank fizzy juice with sugar in it, but we were never overweightbecause we were always outside playing.

We shared one drink with four friends, from one bottle or can and no-one actually died from this. We would spend hours building go-carts out of scraps and then went topspeed down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes.

After running into stinging nettles a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We would leave home in the morning and could play all day, as long as we were back before it got dark. No one was able to reach us and no one minded.

We did not have Play stations or X-Boxes, no video games at all. No 99 channels on TV, no videotape movies, no surround sound, no mobile phones, no personal computers, no DVDs, no Internet chat rooms.

We had friends - we went outside and found them. We played elastics and rounders, and sometimes that ball really hurt!

We fell out of trees, got cut, and broke bones but there were no law suits.

We had full on fist fights but no prosecution followed from other parents.

We played chap-the-door-run-away and were actually afraid of the owners catching us.

We walked to friends' homes.

We also, believe it or not, WALKED to school; we didn't rely on mummy or daddy to drive us to school, which was just round the corner.

We made up games with sticks and tennis balls. We rode bikes in packs of 7 and wore our coats by only the hood.

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of...They actually sided with the law.

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

I'm so glad I'm one of them. Are you? If so, Congratulations!

For those of you who aren't old enough, thought you might like to read about us.

This my friends, is surprisingly frightening......and it might put a smile on your face: The majority of students in universities today were born in 1986........They are called youth.

They have never heard of We are the World, We are the children and the version of Uptown Girl they know is by Westlife not Billy Joel. They have never heard of Rick Astley, Bananarama, Nena Cherry or Belinda Carlisle.

For them, there has always been only one Germany and one Vietnam.

AIDS has existed since they were born.

CD's have existed since they were born.

Michael Jackson has always been white.

To them John Travolta has always been round in shape and they can't imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance.

They believe that Charlie's Angels and Mission Impossible are Films from last year.

They can never imagine life before computers.

They'll never have pretended to be the A Team, RedHand Gang or the Famous Five.

They'll never have applied to be on Jim'll Fix It or Why Don't You.

They can't believe a black and white television ever existed. And they will never understand how we could leave the house without a mobile phone.

Now let's check if we're getting old...

1. You understand what was written above and you smile.

2. You need to sleep more, usually until the afternoon, after a night out.

3. Your friends are getting married/already married.

4. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computers

5. When you see teenagers with mobile phones, you shake your head.

6. You remember watching Dirty Den in EastEnders the first time around

7. You meet your friends from time to time, talking about the good Old days, repeating again all the funny things you have experienced together.

Yes, you're getting old, my friend!!!

Am I turning Alchoholic?

Weekends of the past few months were plain boozing away. Recently, it've been to a stage where without booze I feell the emptiness within me. Its like something is missing and I juz didn't felt right. Counting my fingers away.... it seems like almost every Friday, I'll be at different place dinking with different group of pple... Am I leading that dream singlehood that I craved for when I was with Bengz, or am I finding some ways to numb myself? I really dunno...

It hit me hard and got me thinking when the recent bills came and all the transaction were from the drinking session. I bought myself nothing... not even a piece of clothing, a bag, an accessories, NOTHING!

Although I consider myself who can hold my own liquor... (the last time I was dead drunk was during my 17th bday) recalling back those silly things I've done when I'm out "partying" really puzzled me. Some of which I didn't even remembered, or I shocked the hell outta everyone with my behaviour and actions...

So am I or am I not????

I'm officially moved to 9B

Yes! From 9A to 9B.
I wonder next time if theres a kid,
will I be shifting from 9B to 8A?!!!

Confusing huh? Alright den... let me enlighten you....

My Kor is getting married this June, so I offered to exchange my room with him since my room is bigger. The negative side is that I've downgrading from a 5-door wardrobe to a 3-door wardrobe. Imagine the clothing I've to sell/give to karung-kuni *sob sob* True enuff...the wardrobe barely fit, so I bought a chest of drawers.

I threw away my old writing table which acoompanied me thru my burning midnight oil days... Now he is officially retired! RIP

I never realize how much clothes, bags, accessories, and achi-palia things were hiding from my eyes until I start digging them out from their comfy hiding place.

My new room looks neat and tidy aft all the hardwork of packing. I guess I need to start my furniture shopping to decorate my new room...

Friends are important.

How true! So much so that you either rot with them or you progress and succeed with them. I've my fair bit of experience.

Recently I heard someone saying this to me. If you line up your so called best friends, those you always hang out with, in front of you and you evaluate yourself against them. If you are more successful, in terms of life experiences, career, knowledge, the total packaging thingy, you should start to think about it.

She said when one feels that he/she is the most successful among all the friends; he/she will start feeling contented and stop learning. So how does one upgrade yourself? You can start by making new friends and hang out with them, coz every conversation that you start with them is an opportunity to learn.

I personally feel to a certain extend, theres some truth to it.

I recalled my relationship with my gfs back in sch. We were brand as the ah lianz in sch. Ok personally, I dun like being called that. I NEVER WAS, NEVER WILL and NEVER BE! To me ah lianz has a toally different meaning and packaging to it and my character of being more expressive in terms of communicating and action doesn't fit the bill. Perhaps I used to go tea dance with them, so we were seen as the lianz. (tea dance sound yuckky now... but that was the in thing during my time)

Cut things short, the whole bunch of us "graduated" from sch, with the only me able to make it to poly. I really count myself lucky. The rest of them, didn't make it and started working. Well, they felt that it was a shame for an express stream student going to ITE, to repeat their O's was a pure waste of time, coz they never like studying, so they rather start working... I beg to differ. Hello~ who on earth like studying? Anyway it was their choice and I did my part to talk them into continue studying which I failed. Frankly, they told me, they want to start earning money and party, which I thought, come on~ you need to work at least 30 years before you can officially retire, so why the hurry? Unless, you can find a rich husband who can provide you with the ideal tai tai life every girl dream of....

So I went on with my 3-year in poly while they step into the cruel society. We still meet up like every weekend to party. But as times goes by, we started to drift apart there wasn't any common topic except boys and clothing. I can't tell them anything in sch except the only thing we talk about sch is whether there is any yandao in poly....

Here I must stress that, I dun think going poly is anything glam, in fact, If I've studied hard and stop wasting my time over some unworthy guys, I could have made it to JC and to Uni. Again not that going to JC or Uni makes you a better person or an upper class from others, but in this stupid society, paper qualification is still every important.

Partying wasn't any fun any longer. 1) I was still schooling so I can't match their spending power, although I was temp-ing but still I wasn't earning enough. And to sponge on them? That wasn't my style. 2) Every party session will end up a fighting session. Have you seen a bunch of pple (both guys and gals) fighting from the beginning of the street to the end? I have witness a few times. Its quite eye opening and thrilling at first. But when EVERY session turns out like this, I'm getting scared. Look I'm still schooling and having a criminal record doesn't do any justice to my future career.

So I made up my mind, to lessen the party session with them. As time goes by, we sort of stop seeing each other. They party like every other day and till morning, and by morning i meant 6am. If I've joined them, I would prob miss my lectures the next day. I dun look down on them, by I need to protect myself. Moreover, the guys who hang out with them, are obviously for a ONS (which stands for One Night Stand, if I must spell it out) All the tattoos (not those nice ones which I like, but those cheena dragon, ah bengs poems etc) and vulgarities flying across the air just put me off.

That was 6-7 years back Recently, with the advance of technology, the group met up again thru Friendster. Anyway we went party again. Still the venue haven't change. Still the techno and trance places. Topic haven't change, still revolve around guys and clothing and nothing more.

As I recall, we shared the happiest and notorious moments during my teen years. (Luckily we didn't get ourselves into any trouble. Apparently,, 1 of the girls till now is still so hooked on to smacking K and playing E. ok thats their lingo, K and E are soft drugs) But now, at my age, I can't be talking about guys and clothing ever-ry-day. Sometimes, when I share with them the problem i encounter in work, they can't seems to offer any advice.

I once chat with a good friend of mine. He said, along your life, you will get to know many people. These friends belongs to different category. Friends who you will meet up for coffee and chat about everything under the sun, Friends you party and get your self drunk and talk nothing else, Friends you share your inner and darkest secret with, Friends who share the same hobby, sport, interest as you. Friends who you turn to for advice etc.

How true is that, this is what is happening to my social circle, My group of Friends can be sub-divided into many category. I treasure them a lot and no I dun look down on them. Every one of them help to construct what I am today. I really own it to them. Coz they made me see the darkest side of human beings and hope in life. Like what that person say, every encounter and conversation has its own special way....Life is like a rollercoaster......

You should be shot!!!

Its a bad bus ride to work...

Scene 1: Stupid man who was sitting at the outer seat, was sleeping! I said "Excuse me" out loud which obviously he was too deaf or dead tired! (it was damn loud, coz the person sitting in front turned around and look at me) I poke him hard on this shoulder which still fail to wake him up. Conclusion: Poor bugger is sea ba (Hokkien) and he should get a hearing aid.

Scene 2: Bloody Xiao Long Nu try to act man zhou zhou (cantonese) reading a Cheena novel thinks that she is paying bus fare for her fat ass and ugly furly bag! Being a polite girl, I said "excuse me". Bloody XLN gave me a dirty look and pulled her Ugly Furly Bad toward her! Notice I said towards her and not put the bag on her lap?!!!! Look XLN, your UGLY bag has exceeded the seat edge, so its now half seated on my seat, asshole! So being a bitch, I used my lovely butt and pushed and shoved that UGLY bag towards her!

Look XLN, if you wanna be a bitch, I can be worse!!! I F***ing can't stand these pple, I mean whats your bloody problem. Trust me, I take bus to work for the past few years and I've seen all the ugly things you can never imagine! Not that I'm a complaint queen, but I get super duper irritated when I see all these worthless filthy animal polluting our enviornment. Dun get me started on the whole list of inconsiderate incident I've encounter. Maybe someday I should come out with a vote "Top 10 inconsiderate act you encounter on Public Transport"

Saw this on a kiddo tee which reads" I'm a dynamic kid with strong moral values and a passsion for learning" The logo reads " Learning Vision, where learning is a joyful experience"

Think about it.... using such strong expression on a 4-yr kiddo, how can his everyday learning be a joyful experience?

The Importance of Bananas

You'll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90 minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit.
It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin inthe blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perf ect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert..

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives,

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6 and B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal ofMedicine,"eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death b y strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.

So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time!
PPS: Suddenly I feel like a dietician....

I didn't realize how bad was the bruise on my left leg until everyone have been asking me the same old question over and over again. They must be wondering what sadistic things I've been doing to myself. (nope! Not into that)

I've been hiding it well until i decided to wear a skirt to work on Monday (forgotten to iron my pants and forgotten I've got a new 'tattoo' ) The whole time, everyone have been STARING at my bruise! How sad! Coz it wasn't my legs that they admiring,...

Dun worry, the bruise wasn't caused my wakeboarding.... all thanks to my drunken gf when we went partying 2wks ago. Was helping her down the stairs when she pushed me away, me lost my balance (I was in heels again), sat on the steps and my leg hitting the edge of the steps. Drama drama drama. I feel like giving her two tight slaps.

Linda has been very helpful to take pix for me so that I can 'share' with everyone.

The bruise, measuring the diameter of my fist (thats about 8cm) has been changing from
1) Dark purple and mixture of green plus a big fat lump of height 1cm to
2) Dark red with mixture of green plus lump of 0.3cm to
3) Dark green to
4) Yellowish green with mixture of redness on the side to
5) Red (current)
6) Yellowish (in times to come)

Yeah, I'm descriptive....

Disgusting....

I'm not a LESBIAN, dumbass!

Why is your hair getting shorter and shorter, Clariss? Are you turning butch or lesbo? Oh! Come on~ Spare me!

Its has been a million time of being asked why I cut my hair short that I decided to blog and archive it!

First of all, I'm not a lesbian! 100% pure straight girl who simply adore guys and I don't have sex / make out with girls. Ok, I admit I kissed a girl before! But its only mouth to mouth and no passionate French kiss. Plus I'm on a dare so that doesn't really count.

Turning Butch? I don't think I can take the stress/pain/pressure of binding my B-cup! (Dun laugh or doubt! I might not look like but I'm really a B and that's without wonderbra or push up bra!)

Wow! You are damn brave! You mean you actually cut your waist length hair to this SHORT? Yes! And get a life! At least I'm adventurous and game enough to try new things. Something, which suit my personality and not blindly follow the trend and sport something that's totally not me.

But It's such a pity! You took quite a while to keep till this length.... Wrong! I'm blessed! (Or so to speak) My healthy hair grows fast, and I mean really fast. Thus Murphy, a.k.a the man behind the scene who chops off my silky long hair, is always excited when I call in for an appointment. FYI he charge pretty steep for a haircut. And since my healthy hair grows that fast, I've to go back to him every 6 8 weeks. He never fail to give me a new and refreshing new hairdo and the catch here is it suits my face shape.

So what exactly is wrong with girls sporting really short hair?! Where everyone else is crazy over ugly, ironed, no volume, FLAT straight hair, I loved mine short, neat and tidy. Sometimes if I'm in the mood, it can be spiky and funky, or if I need to impress the mum, it will be neat and tidy girl-girl look.

Mind you, short hair has many advantages (well at least for me). First, you save money on hair product like shampoo, conditioner, and treatment cream. If you need to highlight / dye your hair, its much cheaper. You use lesser water so environmental friendly. Your hair takes a shorter time to dry thus saving time. Mostly towel dry will do the job, which again you save electricity. You seldom get bad hair day, as hair wax will take care of it. You get to experiment, which will surprises you with different hairdo each time. On lazy days where I wish to do nothing to it, it's always my trusty baseball cap. In humid lion city, you feel much fresher and perspire less.

Short hair doesn't mean you can't wear a skirt. I mean I'm blessed with a nice butt and legs (at least they are not five-cent or ten-cent invaded) I think I look sexy in a skirt. Oh you should see me in pants or low cut jeans.

Or if you think, you will drive all the guys away, you are so wrong. Because of my short hair, I stand out from all my girlfriends thus gaining more attention. Since both have short hair, I blend into the male species better. They feel ease talking to me! My hair is definitely a good icebreaker.

Once, a dumbass friend actually asks the stupidest question (with an ah bengz tone) I ever heard. "Oei, your hair so short, later the guy thinks that he making out with a boy how huh?" Look idiot, No. 1 I'm not into casual sex or ONS. Even if I do, the guy would probably think that I look good in short hair if not he wouldn't have gone that far or less make the effort to approach me. No 2 my bf is not blind so he knows the gf has short hair. Moreover if this guy actually decided that I'm not his type because of my appearance, he is missing out the most exciting part of his life. What a loser. Nahz, not welcome here, go get a life!

Look people, short hair doesn't have any shortcoming, in fact, ever since I cut my locks 2 years ago, all the good things have happened to me. Frankly speaking, if you have to ask, which would I prefer, long or short. Putting aside all the pros and cons, I think I look better in short hair. With the long locks, I looked haggard, unattractive and old. Perhaps my natural wave contributes a little.

So, will I consider to keep my locks long again, well not at the moment, I'm happy the way it is now, unless all of a sudden Murphy decide to charge me like $150 for a hair cut, until den I love the way I look now.

Any so, grams, dun worry your grand-daughter does not plan to go through a sex change, you will see me getting married, have kids and live happily ever after....

My first wakeboarding experience....

Damn cool... manage to get up on the third time. Vincent, the driver/instructor compliment that it was pretty fast for a 1st timer (Wat can I say, I'm a fast learner). I manage to hold on for a short distant before plunging into the water.... Vin kept saying that I've butt problem - I kept sticking my butt out. Maybe I wanted to seduce those Cheecko Pek fishing at the side. HAHA! Not Funny Dude! I finally got the posture right but I look stiff. Vin kept asking me to smile and look garceful! Hello... How can I look graceful when the the rain is pouring on my face plus I'm trying to balance myself so I need to concentrate. Jason kept laughing at me everytime I plunge into the water but he isn't doing any better, tried to double wake jump but failed badly and got trashing from Vin coz he didn't follow the safety rules. :P

I rested for a while and tried WakeSkate! Wat the hell was that? Basically its the same as Wakeboarding juz that this doesn't have any binding. This was suppose to help my find my balance point. Linda took some pix of me which I dun look cool coz of my weird posture...

So i guess I've found yet another sport

I MUST share this piece of good news to you!!!

Last Sunday, my beloved and most acclaimed HK actor, TONY LEUNG CHIU WAI has been named BEST ACTOR at The HongKong Flim Award for a record fifth time - for his role as a playboy in the Wong Kar Wai romance, 2046!!!

His previous wins were for the movie Chungking Express in 1995, Happy Together in 1998, In The Mood For Love in 2001 and Infernal Affair in 2003...

All in all thats his eleventh Best Actor in all International Film Award....

He was cladded in white suit, suave and charming!!! I totally melt for the most obvious reasons - the pair of killer eyes, his fantastic acting skills...I simply adore everything about him.....

My "Perfect" Eyesight!

My beloved friends, here am I, back blogging again with a PERFECT eyesight!!!
Yesh! Its PERFECT 6/6 on both eyes!
The past 1 week was an exciting week for me.
So here I go to share with y'all with my LASIK experiences.

Woke up with butterflies in my stomach and they can't seems to stop.
Took a last look at myself in my nerdish specs and here I go proceeding to the hospital. 15mins late due to the hectic bus ride, registered, payment and got my eyesight tested 1 more time.

Realized that I'm getting my left eye done first (but actually they told me the last time, but forgetful Clariss totally forgotten everything)
sat patiently at the waiting area and said a little prayer to God.
My name was called as I walked bravely to the operating theatre.

I wore the operating gown over, with a shower-cap look alike thingy.
The nurse cleaned my eyes and applied a few drops of antiseptic eye drops to both eyes so I won't feel the pain.

My surgeon says hi to me and briefed me on the procedure later on.
No. 1 there will be a sudden lost of vision but rest assured I would regain sight within 1-2 second.
No. 2, I'll have to focus on the blinking red light throughout.
That's easy, as I thought to myself.

Took off my nerdish glasses and the blind mouse is really for the op!
Doc put the eye shield over and this metal thingy on which I hate it coz he needs to stretch open my eye real wide.
Look Doc! Yours truly have really small eyes so no matter how you stretch, that's the maximum you can stretch so stop asking me to open my eye real wide!
Suction was applied to eyeball as he need to mark my eye.
Everything was done and he proceed to slice the flap and flip it over and I totally freak out! Coz I can't see at all and I'm literally blind mouse.
You see, I was too engrossed in focusing on the blinking red light that I forgotten about the sudden lost of vision.
Luckily as promised I saw my 'favorite' blinking red light within 1-2 second.

The 40 second laser began and all I could smell is chou ta smell!
Its like over BBQ food.
As I giggled to myself I'm still focused to the blinking red light.
After completing the laser, he put the flap back nicely, wash my eye and everything was done.

I rested outside the waiting area for 15mins after which, Doc checked my eyes and I was allowed to return home.
Well at this point of time, I can see clearly even with the plastic eye shield over (to prevent me from rubbing my eye)

I was told to apply the eye drop every 2 hours and the artificial tear as and when needed to lubricate my eye.

I slept at 11am and woke up at 1 for lunch.
Oh boy I can feel a little pain as the antiseptic wears off but this is pretty normal.
I had a quick bite and jump back into bed again.
Woke up at about 5pm and the pain wasn't there anymore.
I wasn't allowed to watch tv or read the papers.
Was told to sleep, sleep and sleep. Doc said that the more I slept the faster I recovered.

Day 2, Ma accompanied me for the op on the second eye.
Well I had the eye shield on my left eye and I can't wear my spec as its like eye 1 clear vision and eye 2 bad vision. I
I had my vision tested for the left eye and was told that it was a 6/6 with no astic.
I was ready for eye 2 and the same story was repeated only this time
I was 'prepared' for the sudden lost of vision.
But the funny thing is that although I know what to expect, I was much more nervous compared to the day before...
So nighttime when I sleep, its 2 eye shield on and I definitely look like Ultraman!

Did I mention that I wasn't allowed to wash my hair for 3days?
Well, Doc was afraid that water might get into the eyes so I was wearing my trusty army boy baseball cap (that's an adidas toot!)
BUT my Kiasu and beloved ma ma insist that I wash my hair on the fourth day....
ok I shall not elaborate oh how my hair smell and my sms conversation with Gerri on can-boy being my best friend if I'm invaded with kutu!

Anyway went back for follow up on day 3 and was tested 6/6 PERFECT vision for both eyes!
I'm 'born' with new pair of eyes!!!
I'm still trying to get used to my new pair of eyes....
every night when I'm in bed, keep thinking that I've my contact lenses on, so its gonna take some time....
And I threw away my contact lenses, lenses container, solution etc.

Peggy, you can consider going for the OP, it really save you a lot of trouble. Actually the whole OP only takes about 10 to 15mins and once you are out, you can actually see quite clearly.
The only thing is that you have to get plenty of rest.
But of coz, every person condition is different and I heard some people have side effects like double vision, halo effect at night, constant redness and etc.
I'm juz the few of the lucky ones who can recover fast and suffer no side effect. However, bear in mind that LASIK has only been around for 10 - 15 years, so the REAL side effect will take a while to surface....

What would you do when someone snatches a cab right under your nose?????

I went up, open the door and told him to get his butt off! Still have the cheek to tell me he is not aware of the queue?! You mean you stood there for 15mins and thought everyone was queueing for Hello Kitty?! Or, the board which read TAXI STAND was too huge or high up in the sky?! Or worse, TAXI STAND sound alien to you!!! Lame!

Its alright... juz get your fat ass off my cab, toot! Sorry, juz your luck to bump into me!
met up with my ex sch mates on Friday, brought them to my usual joint since everyone can't decide where to go. Am glad that they like the place. Later on we went to devil's. The place was damn packed. the queue was still very long even at 2am when we reached there. the girls was at the techno and trance area. the music was so damn off for me! Not my genre! Elvin and I practically sat there and stone. We saw a few of our sch mates there, so its like sch reunion. Later, we decided to head to retro zone. Saw Nic and his friends. OMG his frds r f-ing assholes and lame B******, anyway I shall not elaborate on them, waste my time, Elvin and I left shortly after.....

Acc mummy and aunty for shopping on Sat. Got drag out from the bed where I barely slept for 4 hrs....we came back during evening....

will be going for my long awaiting op tomorrow....can't seems to hide my excitment and worries. I trust the Doc so shld be all right. Bam Bam called me on Sat and told me that he read an article on Sat papers saying that I should have plenty or rest and stay away from smoky place. This also implies that I should stay away from partying for a while....

Will be officially transfered to another department on 1st April, so that means four more working days in my current department, with my current boss.... keekee.... I'm really looking forward coz thats so much things I can learn over there, I'll definetly hype up my portfolio, but this also means longer working hours, more effort needed, less time and more responsiblities. Fret not as I tell myself.... I believe I'm game enuff for the challenge....

The past weekend...

Thursday
*********
Had to attend a seminar at RTC, met up with Jie jie Alice and Huiru for lunch at SICC. Agree with Ru that the Jap food was worth the money and very fresh. Really enjoyed the food. Ru brought us to the Isetan Private Sale at Shaw Towers. Am glad that I bought a tube top within 15mins. This is the third green top that I bought within 2 weeks. Really into green nowadays.

Friday
******
Met up with Adeline for dinner. Brought her to Eatz, the food was good. Adeline commented that she could always trust me when it comes to food. Met up with 2 of her friends after dinner... Went for a drink at Circular Road. After which, we went over to Creme bar. Terrance and Mecole were there. Daphne got drag out of bed by us. As usual, we drank and sing. Elvin invited me to sing 2 duets with him, so I went over his table since it's a better view of the tv from his place. As we sang I notice that there was this guy who keeping looking at my direction. (He happens to be seated beside our table) He is the typical clean-cut look that I like. Anyway when we finish the songs, everyone clap and Daphne tease Elvin and me. Come on~ Elvin is much younger than me and happens to be my ex-sec schmate. Do I look like I go for Jie-Di Lian?!

I told the girls about my new discovery. Daphne agreed that the guy was cute and insisted that we take a pix together. Hello?! None of the girls know him. Drama time. One the cute guy friends were very drunk and right in front of our tables. Yewks! Nic apologies to us and immediately cleaned up the mess for us. Well he ought to he is the boss. The best part...the cute guy apologies to us on his friends behalf then we started talking.

Daphne still didn't abort the idea of us taking a pic together. So when she asked, he said ok and sat closer to me so that both of us can fit into the screen. The shot was nicely taken except that I was wearing a tube, so it seems like I was naked! Daphne didn't got to sing despite we ask for a lot of songs. It was too crowded that night, so she suggested we head down to our usual joint. I ask him if he was interested to tag along. Was surprise that he knew where we were heading when I merely told him that the joint was behind Maxwell Hawker. He said he will let me know later as he need to send the drunken home. He asked for my number and said will sms me later. We exchange number before we left the place. But, I have got a feeling that he wouldnt come over as it was quite late. True enough, he sms-ed me 1/2hr later that he need to work the next day so wouldn't be joining us. Dunno whether I should thank the drunken for creating the opportunity for us to talk or to rob away the opportunity to spend more time together.

Saturday
********
Went to work and head home to rest as I only caught 3 hours of sleep the night before. Night, head down to grams place for dinner and help Sok Ching out for her wedding the next day. The whole day was a series of exchange of sms with him. Found out that he was not attached. Happy! Night, he ask me if I wanted to join him at MS, which I politely decline the offer, told him that I need to help my cousin out. We continued to sms each other throughout the night, even when he was partying with his friends. The conversation ended when I fell asleep at abt 2 plus. Managed to find out a couple of things from him, age, occupation, liking and most importantly not attached!

Sunday
******
A happy and joyous occasion for Sok Ching and Edmund.

I've uploaded my family album under the Photo Gallery...Feel free to browse through...

Went to cut my hair yday...I love the fringe Murphey gave me, stylish and yet not too funky! Thats wat I love abt Murphey, the hairstyle he gave me, always suits me. I can wear it in different style depend on the occasion....

He suggested that I should do a little highlight, perhaps a very dark blue...Stylish and yet won't conflict the coporate image... still considering....

In case anyone of you are waiting for my update the the surgery, I regret to say that it has been postpone to next month. My surgeon is on a week medical leave, suffering from high fever. This means that (a) I continue wearing my specs and look like a nerd or (b) invest on a 1 mth disposal contact lense. Yours truly must have discard everything when spring cleaning my room.... Thats the problem with me (a) too forgetful and (b) get irritated and fustrated when there isn't enuff storage space. So, in order to spare my brain cell from thinking where to store my stuff, I'll throw everything away...

Gambling luck hasn't been good... after playing MJ for so long, its the first time I show hand my chips, and on top of that I still o-tang $$$. Luckily things got better and I manage to recover the loss.

Dear all,

I'm back from CNY break. Basically, CNY this year was good. Lots of goodies, and gambling session. Been sleeping in the morning for the first 5 day of CNY. So, my Sunday and Monday was spend at home re-charging battery to prepare me for the New Year.

Valentine's Day
Spent the whole afternoon queuing at Driving Center to book my advance theory test date. Waited for one and half hr for a damn test date. I'm determined to pass this time!!!!

Went to MediaCorp CNY Luncheon juz now. It was filled with a lot of the artiste

Upon request of my dear friend Daphne Kang, I thick-skinned and ask for a pix of Vincent Ng. He looks good and friendly. Pf coz she went gaga when I MMS his self-portray to her!

So now, I need to adjust my holiday mode back to working mode.

5 more days to my OP, mixed feelings hope everything goes well Like wat Daphie said: hope that after the OP I can "see" better, and not get myself involved in unnecessary situation and hurting myself!

Monday, February 07, 2005

Saturday, February 05, 2005

Was over at my cousin place to witness a house blessing ceremony.

very excited coz I've never been to such ceremony before. Basically, the Pastor will bless and pray for the well being and protection of the new house and family members living in it.

Freinds, relatives, colleague and love ones of the family turned up to give their blessing. It was indeed a heart warming scene.

Jie jie Alice has always been an envy. She has got a great and doting husband, understanding and caring mother-in-law, 2 intelligent kids. She manages the household with an aces! I mean when i heard how she took care of the renovation, shifting and furniture buying for their new house, I totally applause her capabilities. The new house is tastfully done up.

When I look at her family, how I wish I have a family like hers in future....

I finally bought the pair of Levis jeans. Nope is not 599 which i wanted to purchase initially. In the end I settle for 501 button-fly. $59 for a pair of jeans is a good deal. Thanks to my UOB voucheur.

I've got a feeling that I'll fall sick soon. I can feel the heat my body is giving out. The container of chips that my colleague brought to the office made things worse. So, for the past 2 days, I've been drowning myself with all the 'cold' stuff to cool my body.

Oh! do you know that Initial D Part 4 is out? And I've got the VCD with me. Thanks to Kelvin boy. So exciting... I'm gonna start watching it tonight.

V-day is coming and yes! I hate to admit I'll be spending it with me, myself and Clariss. But, since its during the CNY period, I guess I'll be either at frds place or relative place.

My thumb still hurts like crazy thanx to my clumsiness. Everyone is laughing the heads off after hearing how my little accident took place...

Monday, January 31, 2005

I'm back to my short boyish haircut again....this time around no longer the funky spiky hairdo, its juz short n neat with fringe, very clean-cut look, with lots of layer and volume.

Wednesday, January 26, 2005

Made a pact with Mr. Ben Siah. Both of us will embark on a no red-meat diet till Chinese New Year. For the next 2 weeks, we will live on white meat, vegetables and fruits. White meat has to be either steam or boil no grilled, bbq, deep fried, pan fried etc. We will update each other on what we ate for the day. Ben, please be honest!

The loser will treat the winner to dinner but the catch is that the loser will only get to see the winner savoir on the food while he/she only gets to eat plain bread.

My target is that I need to lose 1 1/2 inches off my waistline and abt 3 pounds.

So now, some of you might ask, why this deal?! Well coz I realize that I put on so much weight since Xmas. Thanks to all the junk food I stuffed myself with and the alcohol I drowned myself with every week, my waistline getting thicker sob sob. Plus, this CNY, I bought a lot of clothes, so I need to lose a little weight to look good.

As for Ben, he wants back his FLAT stomach!!!! And to think that he is going to wack all the Ba Gua during CNY, he thought he better do something first.

Ben, if you are reading this, dun cheat and try to find loopholes so that you can bluff your way through. Think of the FLAT stomach!!! Well 2 weeks a bit short. Lets be realistic and target 2 inches off.

Despite the fact that I have told myself to get over and done with, I still can't refrain myself from doing silly things. After witnessing the incident on Thursday, I totally believe that everything was over. I have finally woke up from my unrealistic dream. No more hope, not even a tiny weeny one. I should not waste my time over anything that dun even have some hope. I should just concentrate on things that are much more worth my attention and seeking....

Tuesday, January 18, 2005

Wake up! And stop wasting time...

I should get over and done with...I should stop habouring onto that tiny glimpse of hope...I dun have all day to be part of your game and I'm definetly not a character whereby you can manipulate...

So, get lost as I have better things to do....

Friday, January 14, 2005

Dear all,

A little announcement to make, I've finally took up my Director's offer to cross over to the commercial arm and do operation, leasing and A&P. I felt that crossing over will definitely beef up my portfolio and the things that I'm going to learn will be much more than what my current position is offering. Moreover, I've always wanted to do operation and leasing, so this serve a good opportunity.

I certainly see myself as a sponge absorbing the knowledge that she impart to me, though this also means that I have to sacrifice more as she is not a nice person to work with but that's only because she has high demand when it comes to work plus she is a slave driver. At a personal level, she is very fun, definitely dun look like someone who is at her 40s. But then again, I guess I've to look in terms of long run, if I cross over, when I leave this place, I see myself more marketable and I can demand more in terms of position and monetary.

I've also made a few request to her of which she has accepted so now its my turn to fulfill the expectations she has on me.

Official date that I start has yet to confirm but I predict that will probably be in April after our AGM. I'm totally excited and look forward to what has been installed for me.

So wish me luck.....

This is my new digital cam complimentary from Prudential. Very sleek and small. Only size of a business card. But..,the fustrating part is it doesn't come with extra memory card due to the premium that I'm paying. *roll eyes* Anyway the cam comes with a 14MB build in memory card, but I'm such a photo s*** 14mb where got enuff???!!!!
Worst thing that could ever happen to me is toothache! I hate it! I prefer fever, headache etc, not that I love getting sick but the fact that if to compare with all other illness, toothache and blocked nose are two that I detest most!

I totally look like chipmunk. This is what my dentist diagnose Due to my weak gums, (apparently they are very red due to overcrowding at my front set of teeth) the ulcer has aggravate the whatevaer you call them in the gums to start getting havoc.

I was given an antiseptic mouth rinse called Chlorophasm. Its a torture! Damn bitter and I am not suppose to rinse off with water, not allowed to eat of drink within the next hour after the rinse. The only good thing it does is to numb my gums and thus I cant feel the pain.

Anyway, my dentist again brought up the topic of braces. She said that its either 1) I go for braces to solve all the problem or 2) I need to pay more attention to my oral hygiene.

I certainly hope that to get braces done at 22 is not too old. When I told Ben abt it, he commented that I was certainly a high maintenance girl. First, it was the lasix and now braces. I mean I was toying with the braces idea for quite some time, but back then was to get rid of my vampire tooth and look good, but now seems like I have got no choice since my overcrowded teeth are giving me hell lots of problem.

Conclusion, I'll start saving up after my lasix and will get the braces done say hopefully by this year. So that means that my driving license plan has to be put on hold! Hmmmm

Got this email from my pretty cousin *wink*

Cyrus SAYS: Daddy, how was I born?

DAD SAYS: Ah, my son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Well, you see your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on MSN. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a blessed little Pop-Up appeared and said: You've Got Male!

Are human infected with the IT terms that they have lost their human touch, or the basic language structure. K some of you might say that I'm over-reacting... Ask yourself this: When was the last time you actually had a decent conversation with someone? I guess most of the conversation has been replace by sms and emails. Asking your friend out for a movie or coffee can be done sending a sms. "Watching LOTR. Meet 3pm @ PS. Text me when you reach" Does this look familar?!

Nowadays, even quarrelling can be done via sms/msn/emails. Raising your voice to show your anger has been replace by smileys, emotions and puncuation marks.

Isn't it sad when we are gifted with vocal power yet we have choose to let our fingers do the talking. So, will we encounter this day such that, we don't know how to communicate anymore????

My toothache and ucler are killing me.... I'm going nuts.... stay far far away from me .....

Went for our family shot yday at a bridal studio. Its mine parent 30th Wedding Anniversary next month, thus the bridal shot was a gift from kor and me.

Mummy looks gorgeous in the wedding gown. She had three outfit Wedding Gown, a gold-color gown and the traditional Chinese embroidery gown known as Qua. Daddy looks very charming minus off the pot belly of coz! Kor and me were the "best man" and "bridesmaid" I wore a white lace tube dress with a ribbon tie to my neck. It was suppose to be a cute girl look.

Anyway to cut the whole story short, we were there for 6 hrs. The whole experience was exiting, enjoyable and very tiring. We had to smile non-stop. And for a non-professional like us, we definitely ran out of pose.

Mummy was the envy of the day. Everyone was commenting she still look so slim after giving birth to two kids and married for 30 years. Too bad I didn't inherit her genes sob sob....

Once the pix are ready will post online the share my family bliss with you guys.

Oh ya, I finally went to cut my hair...

A Family of Lizards

My wonderful and beautiful was spoilted as I was greeted by the most disgusting, creepy ugly creature living on planet earth! LIZARDS!!!! Not one but a family of three.

Was chatting with mama at the breakfast table, opened up the food basket and wanted a grab a piece of brownie, and saw a fat "toothpick" beside the brownie. I thought "Who on earth use a toothpick to eat brownie?" Took a second look and scremed!!! Its a fat lizard sitting confortably beside my delicious brownie!!! Ma got a shocked and came to my rescue. She shoo the lizard away, but it wasn't moving, so we thought it was dead. When ma wanted to throw the brownie away, out came the mama lizard and baby lizard! Horrible!!!

Both of us kept screaming and ran out of the kitchen! And Daddy came running down from his room.

The hero of the day was none other than my beloved Daddy!!!

Few more hours and bye bye 2004, hello 2005!

Looking back the 12 months, a lot of thiings had happened be it on me or my love ones. You gain some you lose some. Friends comes and goes, everything is constantly changing around you, and sad to say, its beyond your control.

I guess we juz have to accept the way things are. Facing the reality is definetly not easy and a shitty feeling, but dun think we should be a hermit crab and stay in your own world or tiny little island and turn ur back against reality.

I learnt that and every single event that happen in my life is a lesson learnt and will definetly remember it deeply and not to commit the same mistake again...

Been in this currently company for almost a yr, i dun deny that I've learnt a lot of things especially in terms of human relationship and work. With the new management team, things aren't getting any easier... in fact I would say life here is getting tougher and tougher. A piece of advice from an ex-colleague, grab hold of all the opportunities you have and learn as much things as possible. When its time to go, and when you feel that you are ready, juz leave... which I totally agree with him... I do admit that this is not a job that I enjoy doing, but the pple I meet, and the projects I handle is one of the force that will pull me in, and endure on... so since there is a major re-structuring soon and chances are I'll not be handling the projects I'm doing now, then I'll leave and pursue in my dreams.

With a strings of festive holidays coming up, everyone else is attached, and yes you've guessed it, I'm single again...its ok... I know God had already reserve the perfect one for me. No worries, I've got a great bunch of good friends and my beloved Pa and Mummy with me, and I feel so loved. *smiles*

So, as I've mentioned earlier, I'll be going for the op in Feb which is a big step to take, to tell you the truth, I'm afraid of the side effect, the worst scenerio is that I'll go blind... Choy! touch wood touch wood... I really hope everything goes well... and next time I can mesmerise you with my mega-watt eyes *puke puke* OMG there comes my nonsense again...

Another thing is that I aim to get my driving licence. By hook or by crook die die also must get it...and this time I'm not joking man! Hey you! Stop laughing ah! though have got no car for me, but still thats not a good excuse.

A little announcement to make...

I'm going for my Lasik Operation in February, after Chinese New Year.

Went for a check up on Xmas Eve, after a series of test, the doc said that I'm a suitable candidate for the op. The chances of me getting a 6/12 eye sight is 99%, for a perfect 6/6 is about 80%.

The op will take two days, one day per eye and a follow up on the third. After which, I can officiall ditched my glasses and contect lenses and welcome myself to a clearer sight of the future... :)

Having mixed feelings right now...excited that I can get a close to perfect eyesight, paranoid as I dunno I'll suffer any side effects though the surgeon did assure me that the chances are quite slow base on the conclusion he derived after examine my eyes. But then again, you can't cross out all the possibilities.

So I guess I'll go take a few pix of me in glasses this few weeks to keep as memories... think about it.... my good companion has been with me for the past 13yrs...

Will post the pix soon....

Meeting up with long lost friends indeed bring back all the good old memories we used to shared....

At this present phrase in life, looking back the things you have done, the things that made you cried, the silly pranks you used to played, can't help but to smile and left pondering "Wow! those were the days..."

Looking what each other had achieved in life, you can't help but to believe in dismay that time do change a person and his thinking... how a self-procliamed and well-knowned Ah Beng can be so successful in life now. Who can ever believe that when in the past, everyone gave up hope and condemn him? Sometimes you can't help but to laugh at those foolish things that you have done...

Chocolate Overdose

Juz finish our Christmas lunch in the office. The food was good. The eclair was fantastic. After which, we had a gift exchange session. This year, everyone under the influence of your truly, ask for Royce chocolate. We had a wide variety. Champaign, Dark, milk, white etc. Here comes the best part, we had log cake sponsored by my colleague, Peter. Bought it from Goodwood Park Hotel. My goodness! The brandy in the cake can make drunk. 5 star for the cake. Actually, it tastes more like chocolate rather than a log cake due to its richness and texture.

For once, I have to admit, I'm suffering from Chocolate Overdose and I dun mind putting on a few pounds although that means the boxercise class I had on Monday have gone down the drain

Oh ya! I got my wish come true. A shopping spree! Got shopping voucher and a piglet mug from April.

Thank you April! You are the best hugzzz hugzzz

A Purpose Driven Life

Been reading this book call The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.

This is an interactive book or so the author say. It is a guide to a 40-day spirtual journet that will enable the reader to discover the answer to life's most important question : What on earth am I here for? So by the end of 40 days, the reader will understaand the big picture - how all the pieces of our life fit together.

The author claims that one reason most books don't transform us is that we are so eager to read the next chapter that, we don't pause and take time to seriously consider what we have just read. We rush to the next chapter without reflecting on what we have just read. So he put us to a little challenge : to only read a chapter a day.

Ironically, after reading for 5 chapters, it answer to the question that has been going through my mind for the past few months. I'm quite taken aback, but still I believe that God's work, that its not pure coincidence.

I really do learn alot from the book, and I want to walk outta that shadow, all those problems that have been bothering me for months...

Once I finish the book, which is 17 January 2005 (praying to keep to the schedule everyday) I'll tell you how this book has tranform me....

Time do change things...

Went to Tampines Mall to cathc a movie.... my goodness....theres so much new shop around... The landlord - CapitaLand did a major revamp to the 4th floor, converted into a food paradize!

Theres also a man-made outdoor waterfall, those typical ones you see in commercial building and Condo. Wow...

Abt the movie... went to watch a Thai Horror Movie - Shutter! This is must-see! the best one after The Eye

My conclusion after the movie, dun ever watch it during sch holiday! 90% of the hall is filled with sch kids...damn they are noisy...scary oso screm, not scary oso scream! I was so intimidated by them and nothte movie...the two mah-rock sitting beside me made things worse. I think he super scared. Keep saying "Turn around u idiot! Dun go there, the ghost is there!" Hello?! If the lead dun go, how to make the movie exciting? Dumbass!!!

The movie on the whole is ok. I would give a 3 3/4 popcorn

ok gtg for lunch... super duper hungry.... food food here i come...

Its My Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Yup today is my 22nd Birthday...

I enjoyed myself. Had lunch at Wan Hao restaurant with Pa, Ma and Korkor...shop for a while before heading down to gram's place.

2day is also the birthday of handsome baby Aloysius...he is still so cute, chubby and handsome... oh I finally got to see baby Sarah. wow! she is huge! Only 6 weeks old but look like 3 mth old... My goodness! Shes such a pretty girl...

We had dinner and then was the bday cake part. Ah Yin (Aloysius's cantonese name) and me each had our own individual cake baked by Nancy. ok this is the sad part... both our cake have 4 candles each....but mine is 2 big candles 2 small candles... sob sob... I'm old liaoz... relize that once you hit 20, you juz wished that there will be less candle on your bday cake...

I also got lots of birthday greetings from all my beloved friends like Connie, Daniel, Remy, Lawrence, Jerry, Vincent, Jess, Suchuan, Jianhui, Donny, Alex, Junbin, Weijun, Dexter, Yisiang, Qian Ling, Yaozu, Benjamin, Shirlene, Don, Alicia etc... be it sms, calling me or email... thanx a million... I love you all... hugz hugz...

Gerri jiejie...thanx for the watch, will meet up with Jo to collect them... I know you are busy with can-boy, take care...

This yr was a little different from the past years, no partying for me, except on Friday night, met up with my sec sch mates for dinner and karaoke...I get to spend time with my family on this special occation, especially since its been a long time my family get to sit down together to have a decent meal together.. I guess as you age, its no so much of what present you get, or how you celebrate but its all the greetings and wishes you can from your friends..and I get to spend quality time with my love ones - Pa, Ma and Korkor! So what else can I ask for?

Had a couple of drinks at Pasir Ris Park with my secondary sch mate, Yaozu and Yisiang.

Haven't been there for a while, it definetly bring back a lot of good old memories.

Both Yaozu and me had a good chit chat session as Yisiang went off to have supper with his colleague, but came back to fetch us as it pour heavily at the later part of the night...

I'm definetly overwhelmed by the fact that Yaozu and me had such a good talk. Back in sch days, we were like enemies of the lifetime, we couldn't agree with every single things and often break into fights...yes iterally fight...He is a well known chao ah beng who is so skinny and tall like a bamboo pole that ur mum used to hang out the clothes. Although I can compare in terms of height, but i definetly wouldn't lose out since I was such a little sis of all the other boys in class, and they would stand by my side no matter wat...so its quite a privilege...

But look at us now, talking heart to heart and agreeing a lot of life encounter and "experiences" we had. Who can imagine us sitting oppposite each other and boozing away? He definetly change a lot, no longer the chao ah beng who would have the "fuck" word with every sentence he construct. My Gosh! *faint* I'm so disgusted by him to think that he is my classmate but yesterday I didn't have that thought at all...

Guess people do change...whether is it for the good or bad(hopefully not the bad part)

Guess people do grow up

All you guys who are DRIVING / RIDING on the road....

I've received a piece of bad new this morning.

My good friend Jason was involved in a car accident yesterday.

He was traveling down from ECP and saw a motorist got hit and was lying on the road. Being a good samaritan, he slowed down his car with the intention to help the injured guy and direct the traffic. Before his vehicle could come to a complete stop, a cab crashes into the back of his car and his bonnet crash into the side railing by the road. He suffered minor injuries however he was sent to the hospital was an x-ray.

It just wasn't his day, as the previous night, he was caught for 'reckless driving' He was seen weaving in and out of traffic and on Monday morning, he was charged in court with a fine and 9 demerit points.

I really pray that he didn't suffer any concussion form the accident.

So all my beloved friends who are driving or riding please take good care of yourself. When on the road, be extremely careful and never drink and drive. I can't take this type of stress and shock.

What Type Of Girl Are You???(Amazing Pics)
brought to you by Quizilla
I was caught in a massive traffic jam this morning. The bus was traveling along PIE via Bedok Reservoir Road. The jam started along Bedok Reservoir entrance to the PIE and stretches all the way to Paya Layba flyover. Actually it was minor accident involving a car and motorbike, but the it held up everyone especially that was during the peak hours. After we pass the accident scene, the traffic was back to normal. Needless to say, I was late for work again!

The past weekend was a slumberland for me. Woke up at 12:30pm and went to Hairum's place for Hari Raya Lunch. His mum is a fantastic cook. The beef Rendang was superb! The lontong was good, the Masala Chicken was delicious, everything was good especially the chilli sauce. She also made a lot of kwei kwei n cookies. Oh ya! Jason brought along his new gf, Linda. Notice the word "new" keekee.. everyone was spectulating how long this one will last....

Anyway, Jason sent me home at about 4plus. Once I reach home, immediately after my bath, I hit slumberland till 8:00pm. Woke up packed dinner for Dad and the whole night was juz the tv staring at me...

Sunday was teh same for me. Woke up at lunch time, had lunch with mummy, before I hit the bed again. had to attend cousin Ka Wai's wedding dinner which everyone in the family dread going. No choice, have to respect grams, so everyone put on a false front n smile fakely at the dinner. The dinner was at Grand Corpthrone Waterfront Hotel. The food was bad, the rest of the cousins were juz there to wack the wine. The 5 of us, all gers were juz happily drinking away. Even mummy join in the fun. Nowadays, mummy quite havoc, learn how to drink champaign n wine. U guys must look at the way she drink. Super Tai Tai can't stand that look on her face...

Anyway the dinner finish at about 11 plus, took some pix with grams n went back home aft tt, n u've guess it, I'm back to slumberland again...

I'm quite a good girl during the weekend, no late partying and booze for me, juz sleep....sleep...sleep...

SonyEricsson Z1010

I finally saw the phone set of Z1010 which I've been waiting patiently fro the past few months. Boy! Am I disappointed. The phone is huge and bulky. Its bigger than a PDA phone. Very disappointing!!! Guess what the retail price is #1250!!! The one that I got hold of was the import set. This phone is due to launch in Year 2005. So now I've to abort the idea of getting this phone and I'm back to my quest for searching another phone.

However, the guy introduced me to this new Samsung phone direct import from Korea. Its still due to lanuch next year. The phone is sleek, very lady-like, chrom-silver colour, flip LCD screen which can roate 360 degree. Check out the price - its $1000!!! The cost price is $990 so the ah-beng shop owner owns $10. According to him, his boss has good dealing with the Koreans thus they import a lot of weird, trendy phones from Sumsung which you seldom find in Singapore.

Anyway, the ah-beng keep pestering me to buy the phone. Hello?! Its $1000 u think $10 ah? Do I look like I print $$$...dun thnks so...I would say the design is very attractive but the price? nah... Moreover, I can't test the phone as they only have 1 piece so once they on it, I've to purchase it... So I guess, I've to forget about this darling and setlle on something which is more affortable, trusting and durable.

The Incredible

I went to watch The Incredible yesterday night with J. It was an entertaining and hilarious movie. Although the movie is 2hrs, but with the plot, action, pictures and laughter, you wouldn't feel it at all.

The main character Bob Parr used to be one of the world's greatest superheroes known as Mr. Incredible, saving lives and fighting evil on a daily basis. But now, fifteen years later, Bob and his wife (a famous former superheroes in her own right - Elastigirl) have adopted civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs to live "normal" life with their three kids, Violet, Dash and Jack Jack due to a failed rescue mission whom he got sued by the civilian and order to retire by the Government. Now, he is a clock-punching insurance claim agent fighting boredom and a bulging waistline. To fight boredom, he moonlight superheroes with his buddy frozen behind the back of his family. Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communications summons him to a remote island for a top-secret assignment.

Other character include Edna Mode - Superheroes Fashion Designer and Syndrome - overly obsessed superheroes wannabe who idolize Mr. Incredible and got rejected to be his side-kick. In a nutshell he is the villain with no powers.

I totally enjoyed the movie and you guys should go watch. So, this adds to my list of the second cartoon-I-paid-to-watch. Oh ya, juz in case you guys unaware, I dun watch cartoon in cinema.

The gang met up at Sunset Bay, Sentosa this morning. We went sun bathing, volley and Frisbee. There wasn't much hunk around. so sad.

The sun was freaking hot! As usual I applied sun block lotion to tan. Coz the effect will be very nice, Yes it might sound stopid but its tried and tested and it work for me so who cares!

We had so much fun at the beach. Seems like everyone is deprieve of childhood. But it was fun. Took quite a number of pix, will upload once Andy send to me. Which I know will take forever. or it will end up dunno at which folder....Think its time I get my own Digicam.

What pissed me off is the bathing part. Can U imagine I queeued 1 hrs juz to bath for 5 mins. Bloody hell! This gals ah, think they in Spa or hair salon. Take forever to bath. I alomost died waiting for my turn....

We went for sushi for dinner. Haven't ate so much for a long long time. Dav, Connie, Jerry, Remy and I head to Mount Faber. Actually we only stayed there fro abt 20mins before heading back home. Coz everyone was too tired to look at stars...

Mama Mia

After waiting for so long, I finally watch Mama Mia!!!

The story was good. But the actors' voice weren't as great. Didn't have much power. But it was very entertaining.

It was also my first time watching a play in Esplanade. Since I spend quite a lot on the tickets, i got quite good seat. But wat disappoint me is that there isn't much room space. Luckily theres a 1/2 hr interval, if not my legs will get numb aft the whole play. :)

2day is also baby Sarah's baby shower. But by the time I finish the play, grams and the rest have already left the place, so I didn't get to see Baby Sarah. But Mum said she got big eyes and very chubby.

*Hello* she is 10 pounds! How can you expect her not be chubby?

I had dinner with the gang before I head back home.

Went to the Singapore MotorShow 2004 at Suntec Convention Center.

Wow! you guys must definetly not miss this! The cars were double wow! Especially the Lexus concept car. I almost went crazy over it. Look at the pix!

The headlights were tastefully designed. The exhaust pipe was well hidden. The seats are white and classy, The doors open 2-way. This was indeed a babe! Its a must have provided you have that type of cash. J couldn't stop drooling over the car. He took video clips of the car and MMS to his Dad. He said that if he owns this car, he will only drive at a maximum of 30k/hr which I can't stop laughing! This car is perfect! The only thing that spoil the pix is the stoopid woman. *puke*

The Honda Jazz was so cute. Suddenly got the urge to tak my driving license. keekee...

We went to watch TAXI. We couldn't get the 5 plus slot, we end up watching the 9:30 slot. The three of us had dinner at Lip's Cafe and went to Acid Bar for a drink and chill out there.

U guys must go catch TAXI. Its definetly worth your $8.50 Very funny and hilarious. I laugh throughout the whole show. keekee...

We went for billard and I head home at abt 3 plus

Today is Thomas and Adeline ROM day. Congratulation!!!

After the ceremony, I met up with them at Teahouse, China Square. Saw the parents of the couple. Thomas look exactly the same ad his Dad. After meal, its where the sabotage start. Ricky brought out this huge wine glass, which is enough to pour in 7 bottles of wine. That is how huge the wine glass was. We made the couple finish everything. We also made Thomas dirty dance with Adeline. We had so much fun. Everyone can't stop laughing. The boys were very naughty with all the funny tricks up their sleeves.

Next, we proceed to a Turkish caf茅 nearby and continue the boozing session. It was 1-for-1. We ordered 2 pint of whole garden beer each. There were a total of 15 of us. So you can imagine how many pint were there on the table. Whole Garden is one beer that everyones like so much. The after effect is very nice and soothing. I also tried the Shisha or otherwise known as water pipe. It was cherry flavored. Very funI totally look like a filthy rich tai tai.

We continued the party at one of the karaoke joint at Prince Edward Road. Everyone was very high. The guys stripped! Ok relax let me finish first We played the lame song from Alex To Tou diao, literally translated as Take off or Strip. The guys got so excited and stripped, only their tops. So hilarious. Actually, it wasnt any drooling experience coz everyone had a big, fat, round tummy.

Kor and I went back at about 11 plus. We starting drinking since 4 pm in the afternoon. The rest continued the party.

A little write-up on Shisha
Shisha smoking uses a process by which the smoking sublimates are passed through a pot containing water. The pot is connected on one side to a mouth piece via a tube and to the other side to a receptacle containing the tobacco to be consumed. The material
and size of the pot and tubing differ from one type to another. The tobacco used in Shisha is called Meassel which is a mix of ordinary tobacco and molasses (or fruit juice, where it is called after the name of the fruit juice used) in ratio 1:2.4. Meassel is put in a clay container called Hagar where it is burnt with pieces of coal. The tobacco content of one Hagar is called Korsi and is almost equivalent in weight to one cigarette

Saturday
********
Met up with some friends whom we haven't met for a long time. We had dinner and when to watch a HK movie Abnormal Beauty, directed by the director of The Eye and The Eye 2.

It was such a crap show. Basically its about this girl who is so into arts and photography. One fine day, she witnesses a car accident and suddenly she got urge to photograph the victim. And from then on she got so into take bloody pix especially the dead. Then, a mystery person start sending her pix for dead people and further on a video on how a girl got beaten to death. The leads lesbo friend later on became the victim and followed by the lead. In the end, we found out that the murderer was some bookstore sale person who was never introduced to the audience.

It was such a waste of time and money!!! All of us was traumatized by the movie...

Ok enough on the movie. We went to East Coast Park to chat, Since my friend's car was full and I was the one wearing jeans (the rest of the girls wore skirts), I had to take friends bike. It was exciting as I haven't rode a bike for million years. Dun worry, my friend is no hell rider. I must say I looked like tweety bird when I wore the helmet. It was a bit too big for me.

We went to the jetty to look at people fishing. We chatted throughout the night and took off at about 4 plus.

Sunday
******
Got drag out from my cozy bed by mummy. She wanted me to accompany her for shopping. This coming Sunday is baby Sarah's baby shower, so mummy wanted to get her something from the jewelry shop.

We went to visit my grand auntie. Apparently she wanted to go shopping with us so we went over to her place for lunch. She made popiah and I was such a pig! I ate 3 big fat popiah. Its not those that you purchase from food court or some eatery joint. Its those hokkien style where there are many different types of ingredient. It very fun as we get to wrap them on our own and we get to choose which ingredients we want to add, to add more or to add less, all according to your liking. I havent had popiah for a very long long time plus I didnt get to eat much for dinner the day before. So that explained why I ate so much.

After lunch, we went shopping. Its one of those olden days jewelry shop. Acutally I should say its goldsmith shop, I totally sympathies the sale person. Got bullied by my grand auntie, my auntie and mummy. They really bargained with him for a good price. Apparently, I heard my grand auntie was his regular customer, so I guess he has got no choice but to give a real good price. It was so embarrassing so grand aunt has got VERY loud voice, so pratically everyone could hear wat she say....

You can see their satisfied face after they close the deal. But I must say it was indeed a good price. Sometimes you really need to give it to the aunties, they are real good on bargaining. Frankly I wouldnt buy anything from that shop. The design is so corny. More suitable for the older generation.

We went to visit grams in the afternoon and had dinner over there.

Working on Saturday is always unproductive, inefficient and a waste of time....

Bascially, thats nothing much for you to do except to surf the net, read the papers, and loiter around...

Was at Orchard yesterdat aft work, X'mas decor were all up, but still I dun feel the ambience, Which is weird, normally, every year when it hit Nov, I'll be extremly excited. All the festive seasons are round the corner...

There will be two major holiday coming next week. Deepavali on Thursday and Hari Raya on Sunday which means that Monday will be declare as a public holiday. Initially, planned to go Hong Kong with my family for a short retreat, but nothing is materialize so I guess I'll stay at home and rot.

I can't wait for 14 Nov to come. Coz I'm watching Mama Mia and also, its my baby niece baby shower.

Its again another lazy afternoon with no plans...so I guess its back home aft knocking off and rot thru the day....I think I really should find something to do... Think I should go n take my diving license. Have always been dying to go get one...Or perhaps I should start taking my driving lesson. I;m really bored with my current life...no goals and everyday is juz waiting for the next day to come.... Wat am I doing...

Friday, November 05, 2004

I sneaked out from the office yesterday and went to the Wine for Asia exhibition at Singapore Expo. Met my event managers for my furniture show held in Sept. We had such a great time chatting, gossiping and tasting the wine. Those award winning wines by Decanter and Miundus Vini were good.

however some of the wines were very young. Vintage mainly from 2002-2004. The organizer explained that its teh culture of Asian as normally they can't wait to drink the wine once they bought it so those wine that the exhibitors bring in is mostly young wine.

Its quite disappointing they do not have my favourite Cloudy Bay. But, on the whole the wines over there were good.

Kor and his colleagues, Thomas and Raymond was there too. So since Kor is a sommelier, I naturally followed him around to taste the wines. Its the first time I see him behaving so professionally. I mean you look at his facial expression when he taste the wines, damn pro. They saw a few of their suppliers over at the exhibitions. When introduced, they were shocked to find out that Kor and me are blood related siblings. Of coz, all were saying that we both look alike, as though we were photocopied. *roll eyes* Thats the usual comments we get so I'm pretty used to that. It seems that kor is very popular with the suppliers, coz everywhere we walked, we hear people calling his name and the same old thing again on how we looked alike.

Rosalyn, Serene and Sharon, my events managers were teasting me of haivng such a "kheng" brother. Knowing how to taste wine etc. Of coz I juz smiled. Of coz they did asked him which are the good wines...

When I look at him talking, I feel the comfort that finally there is one thing that he is capable of and not rot his life away.

While he was talking to them, I had a good chat with Thomas and Raymond and as usual they like to tease me. Saying since when I know how to taste wine. Oh ya! Thomas and Adeline getting registered next Friday. So I'm invited to ROM ceremony which I'm afraid I'll not be able to make it since its in the afternoon and I've got to work. Probably will join them aft work for the party.

I started drinking at about 2pm so by the time we left the place at about 6, I was a little high. We went to Club Chinois as Raymong got to go back and work while kor was meeting Eric there. As usual, the moment Ricky saw me, he start his nonsense again. SOmetimes I wonder, why am I always the target. I've already kept my mounth shut when I'm around them yet I still get shot. Do I have the come-snoke-me face?! Of coz I know they meant no harm and theres no personal attack. Whats importtant is that, at the end of the day, all of them dote on me...

Hmm... I'm thinking of the Tim Sum buffet they serve during Sunday and I'm drooling *slurp* oe of these days, I should go back there again....

New Skin

I think its time to change my blogskin. Dec is approaching, so no more the sunshine thingy liaoz...

I promise once I'm done with my newsletter, I'll start shopping for the new skin...

I juz weigh myself recently. Guess what, I lost 2kg. But it seems like I've put on weight coz my double chin is showing, my whobby tummy is showing, jeans and tees are getting tighter. Must be something wrong with the weighing machine... *puke puke*

Anyway I decided what I want to get myself for this year birthday. I'm going to treat myself for a dental bleaching session. Yes! I've had enuff with the cigarette stains on my teeth. No matter how I take care of them, these stubborn stain juz won't go away.

So I decided to get them bleach. Once and for all. As for the cigarette, I'l slowly quitting....But it really take a lot of determination which I'm lack off....
