Friends are important.

How true! So much so that you either rot with them or you progress and succeed with them. I've my fair bit of experience.

Recently I heard someone saying this to me. If you line up your so called best friends, those you always hang out with, in front of you and you evaluate yourself against them. If you are more successful, in terms of life experiences, career, knowledge, the total packaging thingy, you should start to think about it.

She said when one feels that he/she is the most successful among all the friends; he/she will start feeling contented and stop learning. So how does one upgrade yourself? You can start by making new friends and hang out with them, coz every conversation that you start with them is an opportunity to learn.

I personally feel to a certain extend, theres some truth to it.

I recalled my relationship with my gfs back in sch. We were brand as the ah lianz in sch. Ok personally, I dun like being called that. I NEVER WAS, NEVER WILL and NEVER BE! To me ah lianz has a toally different meaning and packaging to it and my character of being more expressive in terms of communicating and action doesn't fit the bill. Perhaps I used to go tea dance with them, so we were seen as the lianz. (tea dance sound yuckky now... but that was the in thing during my time)

Cut things short, the whole bunch of us "graduated" from sch, with the only me able to make it to poly. I really count myself lucky. The rest of them, didn't make it and started working. Well, they felt that it was a shame for an express stream student going to ITE, to repeat their O's was a pure waste of time, coz they never like studying, so they rather start working... I beg to differ. Hello~ who on earth like studying? Anyway it was their choice and I did my part to talk them into continue studying which I failed. Frankly, they told me, they want to start earning money and party, which I thought, come on~ you need to work at least 30 years before you can officially retire, so why the hurry? Unless, you can find a rich husband who can provide you with the ideal tai tai life every girl dream of....

So I went on with my 3-year in poly while they step into the cruel society. We still meet up like every weekend to party. But as times goes by, we started to drift apart there wasn't any common topic except boys and clothing. I can't tell them anything in sch except the only thing we talk about sch is whether there is any yandao in poly....

Here I must stress that, I dun think going poly is anything glam, in fact, If I've studied hard and stop wasting my time over some unworthy guys, I could have made it to JC and to Uni. Again not that going to JC or Uni makes you a better person or an upper class from others, but in this stupid society, paper qualification is still every important.

Partying wasn't any fun any longer. 1) I was still schooling so I can't match their spending power, although I was temp-ing but still I wasn't earning enough. And to sponge on them? That wasn't my style. 2) Every party session will end up a fighting session. Have you seen a bunch of pple (both guys and gals) fighting from the beginning of the street to the end? I have witness a few times. Its quite eye opening and thrilling at first. But when EVERY session turns out like this, I'm getting scared. Look I'm still schooling and having a criminal record doesn't do any justice to my future career.

So I made up my mind, to lessen the party session with them. As time goes by, we sort of stop seeing each other. They party like every other day and till morning, and by morning i meant 6am. If I've joined them, I would prob miss my lectures the next day. I dun look down on them, by I need to protect myself. Moreover, the guys who hang out with them, are obviously for a ONS (which stands for One Night Stand, if I must spell it out) All the tattoos (not those nice ones which I like, but those cheena dragon, ah bengs poems etc) and vulgarities flying across the air just put me off.

That was 6-7 years back Recently, with the advance of technology, the group met up again thru Friendster. Anyway we went party again. Still the venue haven't change. Still the techno and trance places. Topic haven't change, still revolve around guys and clothing and nothing more.

As I recall, we shared the happiest and notorious moments during my teen years. (Luckily we didn't get ourselves into any trouble. Apparently,, 1 of the girls till now is still so hooked on to smacking K and playing E. ok thats their lingo, K and E are soft drugs) But now, at my age, I can't be talking about guys and clothing ever-ry-day. Sometimes, when I share with them the problem i encounter in work, they can't seems to offer any advice.

I once chat with a good friend of mine. He said, along your life, you will get to know many people. These friends belongs to different category. Friends who you will meet up for coffee and chat about everything under the sun, Friends you party and get your self drunk and talk nothing else, Friends you share your inner and darkest secret with, Friends who share the same hobby, sport, interest as you. Friends who you turn to for advice etc.

How true is that, this is what is happening to my social circle, My group of Friends can be sub-divided into many category. I treasure them a lot and no I dun look down on them. Every one of them help to construct what I am today. I really own it to them. Coz they made me see the darkest side of human beings and hope in life. Like what that person say, every encounter and conversation has its own special way....Life is like a rollercoaster......

You should be shot!!!

Its a bad bus ride to work...

Scene 1: Stupid man who was sitting at the outer seat, was sleeping! I said "Excuse me" out loud which obviously he was too deaf or dead tired! (it was damn loud, coz the person sitting in front turned around and look at me) I poke him hard on this shoulder which still fail to wake him up. Conclusion: Poor bugger is sea ba (Hokkien) and he should get a hearing aid.

Scene 2: Bloody Xiao Long Nu try to act man zhou zhou (cantonese) reading a Cheena novel thinks that she is paying bus fare for her fat ass and ugly furly bag! Being a polite girl, I said "excuse me". Bloody XLN gave me a dirty look and pulled her Ugly Furly Bad toward her! Notice I said towards her and not put the bag on her lap?!!!! Look XLN, your UGLY bag has exceeded the seat edge, so its now half seated on my seat, asshole! So being a bitch, I used my lovely butt and pushed and shoved that UGLY bag towards her!

Look XLN, if you wanna be a bitch, I can be worse!!! I F***ing can't stand these pple, I mean whats your bloody problem. Trust me, I take bus to work for the past few years and I've seen all the ugly things you can never imagine! Not that I'm a complaint queen, but I get super duper irritated when I see all these worthless filthy animal polluting our enviornment. Dun get me started on the whole list of inconsiderate incident I've encounter. Maybe someday I should come out with a vote "Top 10 inconsiderate act you encounter on Public Transport"

Saw this on a kiddo tee which reads" I'm a dynamic kid with strong moral values and a passsion for learning" The logo reads " Learning Vision, where learning is a joyful experience"

Think about it.... using such strong expression on a 4-yr kiddo, how can his everyday learning be a joyful experience?

The Importance of Bananas

You'll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90 minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit.
It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin inthe blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perf ect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert..

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives,

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6 and B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal ofMedicine,"eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death b y strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.

So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time!
PPS: Suddenly I feel like a dietician....

I didn't realize how bad was the bruise on my left leg until everyone have been asking me the same old question over and over again. They must be wondering what sadistic things I've been doing to myself. (nope! Not into that)

I've been hiding it well until i decided to wear a skirt to work on Monday (forgotten to iron my pants and forgotten I've got a new 'tattoo' ) The whole time, everyone have been STARING at my bruise! How sad! Coz it wasn't my legs that they admiring,...

Dun worry, the bruise wasn't caused my wakeboarding.... all thanks to my drunken gf when we went partying 2wks ago. Was helping her down the stairs when she pushed me away, me lost my balance (I was in heels again), sat on the steps and my leg hitting the edge of the steps. Drama drama drama. I feel like giving her two tight slaps.

Linda has been very helpful to take pix for me so that I can 'share' with everyone.

The bruise, measuring the diameter of my fist (thats about 8cm) has been changing from
1) Dark purple and mixture of green plus a big fat lump of height 1cm to
2) Dark red with mixture of green plus lump of 0.3cm to
3) Dark green to
4) Yellowish green with mixture of redness on the side to
5) Red (current)
6) Yellowish (in times to come)

Yeah, I'm descriptive....

Disgusting....

I'm not a LESBIAN, dumbass!

Why is your hair getting shorter and shorter, Clariss? Are you turning butch or lesbo? Oh! Come on~ Spare me!

Its has been a million time of being asked why I cut my hair short that I decided to blog and archive it!

First of all, I'm not a lesbian! 100% pure straight girl who simply adore guys and I don't have sex / make out with girls. Ok, I admit I kissed a girl before! But its only mouth to mouth and no passionate French kiss. Plus I'm on a dare so that doesn't really count.

Turning Butch? I don't think I can take the stress/pain/pressure of binding my B-cup! (Dun laugh or doubt! I might not look like but I'm really a B and that's without wonderbra or push up bra!)

Wow! You are damn brave! You mean you actually cut your waist length hair to this SHORT? Yes! And get a life! At least I'm adventurous and game enough to try new things. Something, which suit my personality and not blindly follow the trend and sport something that's totally not me.

But It's such a pity! You took quite a while to keep till this length.... Wrong! I'm blessed! (Or so to speak) My healthy hair grows fast, and I mean really fast. Thus Murphy, a.k.a the man behind the scene who chops off my silky long hair, is always excited when I call in for an appointment. FYI he charge pretty steep for a haircut. And since my healthy hair grows that fast, I've to go back to him every 6 8 weeks. He never fail to give me a new and refreshing new hairdo and the catch here is it suits my face shape.

So what exactly is wrong with girls sporting really short hair?! Where everyone else is crazy over ugly, ironed, no volume, FLAT straight hair, I loved mine short, neat and tidy. Sometimes if I'm in the mood, it can be spiky and funky, or if I need to impress the mum, it will be neat and tidy girl-girl look.

Mind you, short hair has many advantages (well at least for me). First, you save money on hair product like shampoo, conditioner, and treatment cream. If you need to highlight / dye your hair, its much cheaper. You use lesser water so environmental friendly. Your hair takes a shorter time to dry thus saving time. Mostly towel dry will do the job, which again you save electricity. You seldom get bad hair day, as hair wax will take care of it. You get to experiment, which will surprises you with different hairdo each time. On lazy days where I wish to do nothing to it, it's always my trusty baseball cap. In humid lion city, you feel much fresher and perspire less.

Short hair doesn't mean you can't wear a skirt. I mean I'm blessed with a nice butt and legs (at least they are not five-cent or ten-cent invaded) I think I look sexy in a skirt. Oh you should see me in pants or low cut jeans.

Or if you think, you will drive all the guys away, you are so wrong. Because of my short hair, I stand out from all my girlfriends thus gaining more attention. Since both have short hair, I blend into the male species better. They feel ease talking to me! My hair is definitely a good icebreaker.

Once, a dumbass friend actually asks the stupidest question (with an ah bengz tone) I ever heard. "Oei, your hair so short, later the guy thinks that he making out with a boy how huh?" Look idiot, No. 1 I'm not into casual sex or ONS. Even if I do, the guy would probably think that I look good in short hair if not he wouldn't have gone that far or less make the effort to approach me. No 2 my bf is not blind so he knows the gf has short hair. Moreover if this guy actually decided that I'm not his type because of my appearance, he is missing out the most exciting part of his life. What a loser. Nahz, not welcome here, go get a life!

Look people, short hair doesn't have any shortcoming, in fact, ever since I cut my locks 2 years ago, all the good things have happened to me. Frankly speaking, if you have to ask, which would I prefer, long or short. Putting aside all the pros and cons, I think I look better in short hair. With the long locks, I looked haggard, unattractive and old. Perhaps my natural wave contributes a little.

So, will I consider to keep my locks long again, well not at the moment, I'm happy the way it is now, unless all of a sudden Murphy decide to charge me like $150 for a hair cut, until den I love the way I look now.

Any so, grams, dun worry your grand-daughter does not plan to go through a sex change, you will see me getting married, have kids and live happily ever after....

My first wakeboarding experience....

Damn cool... manage to get up on the third time. Vincent, the driver/instructor compliment that it was pretty fast for a 1st timer (Wat can I say, I'm a fast learner). I manage to hold on for a short distant before plunging into the water.... Vin kept saying that I've butt problem - I kept sticking my butt out. Maybe I wanted to seduce those Cheecko Pek fishing at the side. HAHA! Not Funny Dude! I finally got the posture right but I look stiff. Vin kept asking me to smile and look garceful! Hello... How can I look graceful when the the rain is pouring on my face plus I'm trying to balance myself so I need to concentrate. Jason kept laughing at me everytime I plunge into the water but he isn't doing any better, tried to double wake jump but failed badly and got trashing from Vin coz he didn't follow the safety rules. :P

I rested for a while and tried WakeSkate! Wat the hell was that? Basically its the same as Wakeboarding juz that this doesn't have any binding. This was suppose to help my find my balance point. Linda took some pix of me which I dun look cool coz of my weird posture...

So i guess I've found yet another sport
