Its the 50th Anniversary Celebrations of the Oxford & Cambridge First Overland Expedition and its set to take place in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, March 2-4, 2006.
The 5 surviving members will take part in a golden anniversary celebration drive from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore on Saturday March 4, 2006.
The route will retrace the Expedition's journey from the Malaysian capital city to the same spot on Singapore's Orchard Road where the Rover dealer, Champion Motors, had its showroom in 1956, and carry on to the new Land Rover showroom on Alexandra Road for a dinner reception.

50 years ago, 6 men, 1 from Oxford and 5 from Cambridge, set off from London in a convoy of two Land Rover, drive continuously overland to Singapore

The expedition started from London and headed south-east through Vienna, Belgrade, and Salonika, then east throught Turkey, Persia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Burma and then south-east through Thailand to Malaysia and finally to Singapore.

4:00pm convoy will form up at Old Ford Factory
5:30pm to leave for Orchard
6:30pm arrive at Regent motors
I guess this will be the largest Land Rover's gathering from both Singapore and Malaysia.
