Few more hours and bye bye 2004, hello 2005!

Looking back the 12 months, a lot of thiings had happened be it on me or my love ones. You gain some you lose some. Friends comes and goes, everything is constantly changing around you, and sad to say, its beyond your control.

I guess we juz have to accept the way things are. Facing the reality is definetly not easy and a shitty feeling, but dun think we should be a hermit crab and stay in your own world or tiny little island and turn ur back against reality.

I learnt that and every single event that happen in my life is a lesson learnt and will definetly remember it deeply and not to commit the same mistake again...

Been in this currently company for almost a yr, i dun deny that I've learnt a lot of things especially in terms of human relationship and work. With the new management team, things aren't getting any easier... in fact I would say life here is getting tougher and tougher. A piece of advice from an ex-colleague, grab hold of all the opportunities you have and learn as much things as possible. When its time to go, and when you feel that you are ready, juz leave... which I totally agree with him... I do admit that this is not a job that I enjoy doing, but the pple I meet, and the projects I handle is one of the force that will pull me in, and endure on... so since there is a major re-structuring soon and chances are I'll not be handling the projects I'm doing now, then I'll leave and pursue in my dreams.

With a strings of festive holidays coming up, everyone else is attached, and yes you've guessed it, I'm single again...its ok... I know God had already reserve the perfect one for me. No worries, I've got a great bunch of good friends and my beloved Pa and Mummy with me, and I feel so loved. *smiles*

So, as I've mentioned earlier, I'll be going for the op in Feb which is a big step to take, to tell you the truth, I'm afraid of the side effect, the worst scenerio is that I'll go blind... Choy! touch wood touch wood... I really hope everything goes well... and next time I can mesmerise you with my mega-watt eyes *puke puke* OMG there comes my nonsense again...

Another thing is that I aim to get my driving licence. By hook or by crook die die also must get it...and this time I'm not joking man! Hey you! Stop laughing ah! though have got no car for me, but still thats not a good excuse.

With me signing 2 insurance policy this recently, I will now officially announce that my shopping spree days are over... no more shoes and bags for me. All the angels, please protect me from the devil, when the $hopping-monster comes attacking, must protect me ah....

As usual, my New Year resolution is that to stay happy everyday, worries stay far far away from me, every single of my love ones stay pink of health, May God's blessing be with everyone and wish that I'll get selected for the job.... *wink*

2005, here I come ~~~

A little announcement to make...

I'm going for my Lasik Operation in February, after Chinese New Year.

Went for a check up on Xmas Eve, after a series of test, the doc said that I'm a suitable candidate for the op. The chances of me getting a 6/12 eye sight is 99%, for a perfect 6/6 is about 80%.

The op will take two days, one day per eye and a follow up on the third. After which, I can officiall ditched my glasses and contect lenses and welcome myself to a clearer sight of the future... :)

Having mixed feelings right now...excited that I can get a close to perfect eyesight, paranoid as I dunno I'll suffer any side effects though the surgeon did assure me that the chances are quite slow base on the conclusion he derived after examine my eyes. But then again, you can't cross out all the possibilities.

So I guess I'll go take a few pix of me in glasses this few weeks to keep as memories... think about it.... my good companion has been with me for the past 13yrs...

Will post the pix soon....

Meeting up with long lost friends indeed bring back all the good old memories we used to shared....

At this present phrase in life, looking back the things you have done, the things that made you cried, the silly pranks you used to played, can't help but to smile and left pondering "Wow! those were the days..."

Looking what each other had achieved in life, you can't help but to believe in dismay that time do change a person and his thinking... how a self-procliamed and well-knowned Ah Beng can be so successful in life now. Who can ever believe that when in the past, everyone gave up hope and condemn him? Sometimes you can't help but to laugh at those foolish things that you have done...

Chocolate Overdose

Juz finish our Christmas lunch in the office. The food was good. The eclair was fantastic. After which, we had a gift exchange session. This year, everyone under the influence of your truly, ask for Royce chocolate. We had a wide variety. Champaign, Dark, milk, white etc. Here comes the best part, we had log cake sponsored by my colleague, Peter. Bought it from Goodwood Park Hotel. My goodness! The brandy in the cake can make drunk. 5 star for the cake. Actually, it tastes more like chocolate rather than a log cake due to its richness and texture.

For once, I have to admit, I'm suffering from Chocolate Overdose and I dun mind putting on a few pounds although that means the boxercise class I had on Monday have gone down the drain

Oh ya! I got my wish come true. A shopping spree! Got shopping voucher and a piglet mug from April.

Thank you April! You are the best hugzzz hugzzz

A Purpose Driven Life

Been reading this book call The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.

This is an interactive book or so the author say. It is a guide to a 40-day spirtual journet that will enable the reader to discover the answer to life's most important question : What on earth am I here for? So by the end of 40 days, the reader will understaand the big picture - how all the pieces of our life fit together.

The author claims that one reason most books don't transform us is that we are so eager to read the next chapter that, we don't pause and take time to seriously consider what we have just read. We rush to the next chapter without reflecting on what we have just read. So he put us to a little challenge : to only read a chapter a day.

Ironically, after reading for 5 chapters, it answer to the question that has been going through my mind for the past few months. I'm quite taken aback, but still I believe that God's work, that its not pure coincidence.

I really do learn alot from the book, and I want to walk outta that shadow, all those problems that have been bothering me for months...

Once I finish the book, which is 17 January 2005 (praying to keep to the schedule everyday) I'll tell you how this book has tranform me....

Time do change things...

Went to Tampines Mall to cathc a movie.... my goodness....theres so much new shop around... The landlord - CapitaLand did a major revamp to the 4th floor, converted into a food paradize!

Theres also a man-made outdoor waterfall, those typical ones you see in commercial building and Condo. Wow...

Abt the movie... went to watch a Thai Horror Movie - Shutter! This is must-see! the best one after The Eye

My conclusion after the movie, dun ever watch it during sch holiday! 90% of the hall is filled with sch kids...damn they are noisy...scary oso screm, not scary oso scream! I was so intimidated by them and nothte movie...the two mah-rock sitting beside me made things worse. I think he super scared. Keep saying "Turn around u idiot! Dun go there, the ghost is there!" Hello?! If the lead dun go, how to make the movie exciting? Dumbass!!!

The movie on the whole is ok. I would give a 3 3/4 popcorn

ok gtg for lunch... super duper hungry.... food food here i come...

Its My Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Yup today is my 22nd Birthday...

I enjoyed myself. Had lunch at Wan Hao restaurant with Pa, Ma and Korkor...shop for a while before heading down to gram's place.

2day is also the birthday of handsome baby Aloysius...he is still so cute, chubby and handsome... oh I finally got to see baby Sarah. wow! she is huge! Only 6 weeks old but look like 3 mth old... My goodness! Shes such a pretty girl...

We had dinner and then was the bday cake part. Ah Yin (Aloysius's cantonese name) and me each had our own individual cake baked by Nancy. ok this is the sad part... both our cake have 4 candles each....but mine is 2 big candles 2 small candles... sob sob... I'm old liaoz... relize that once you hit 20, you juz wished that there will be less candle on your bday cake...

I also got lots of birthday greetings from all my beloved friends like Connie, Daniel, Remy, Lawrence, Jerry, Vincent, Jess, Suchuan, Jianhui, Donny, Alex, Junbin, Weijun, Dexter, Yisiang, Qian Ling, Yaozu, Benjamin, Shirlene, Don, Alicia etc... be it sms, calling me or email... thanx a million... I love you all... hugz hugz...

Gerri jiejie...thanx for the watch, will meet up with Jo to collect them... I know you are busy with can-boy, take care...

This yr was a little different from the past years, no partying for me, except on Friday night, met up with my sec sch mates for dinner and karaoke...I get to spend time with my family on this special occation, especially since its been a long time my family get to sit down together to have a decent meal together.. I guess as you age, its no so much of what present you get, or how you celebrate but its all the greetings and wishes you can from your friends..and I get to spend quality time with my love ones - Pa, Ma and Korkor! So what else can I ask for?

Had a couple of drinks at Pasir Ris Park with my secondary sch mate, Yaozu and Yisiang.

Haven't been there for a while, it definetly bring back a lot of good old memories.

Both Yaozu and me had a good chit chat session as Yisiang went off to have supper with his colleague, but came back to fetch us as it pour heavily at the later part of the night...

I'm definetly overwhelmed by the fact that Yaozu and me had such a good talk. Back in sch days, we were like enemies of the lifetime, we couldn't agree with every single things and often break into fights...yes iterally fight...He is a well known chao ah beng who is so skinny and tall like a bamboo pole that ur mum used to hang out the clothes. Although I can compare in terms of height, but i definetly wouldn't lose out since I was such a little sis of all the other boys in class, and they would stand by my side no matter wat...so its quite a privilege...

But look at us now, talking heart to heart and agreeing a lot of life encounter and "experiences" we had. Who can imagine us sitting oppposite each other and boozing away? He definetly change a lot, no longer the chao ah beng who would have the "fuck" word with every sentence he construct. My Gosh! *faint* I'm so disgusted by him to think that he is my classmate but yesterday I didn't have that thought at all...

Guess people do change...whether is it for the good or bad(hopefully not the bad part)

Guess people do grow up

All you guys who are DRIVING / RIDING on the road....

I've received a piece of bad new this morning.

My good friend Jason was involved in a car accident yesterday.

He was traveling down from ECP and saw a motorist got hit and was lying on the road. Being a good samaritan, he slowed down his car with the intention to help the injured guy and direct the traffic. Before his vehicle could come to a complete stop, a cab crashes into the back of his car and his bonnet crash into the side railing by the road. He suffered minor injuries however he was sent to the hospital was an x-ray.

It just wasn't his day, as the previous night, he was caught for 'reckless driving' He was seen weaving in and out of traffic and on Monday morning, he was charged in court with a fine and 9 demerit points.

I really pray that he didn't suffer any concussion form the accident.

So all my beloved friends who are driving or riding please take good care of yourself. When on the road, be extremely careful and never drink and drive. I can't take this type of stress and shock.

What Type Of Girl Are You???(Amazing Pics)
brought to you by Quizilla
I was caught in a massive traffic jam this morning. The bus was traveling along PIE via Bedok Reservoir Road. The jam started along Bedok Reservoir entrance to the PIE and stretches all the way to Paya Layba flyover. Actually it was minor accident involving a car and motorbike, but the it held up everyone especially that was during the peak hours. After we pass the accident scene, the traffic was back to normal. Needless to say, I was late for work again!

The past weekend was a slumberland for me. Woke up at 12:30pm and went to Hairum's place for Hari Raya Lunch. His mum is a fantastic cook. The beef Rendang was superb! The lontong was good, the Masala Chicken was delicious, everything was good especially the chilli sauce. She also made a lot of kwei kwei n cookies. Oh ya! Jason brought along his new gf, Linda. Notice the word "new" keekee.. everyone was spectulating how long this one will last....

Anyway, Jason sent me home at about 4plus. Once I reach home, immediately after my bath, I hit slumberland till 8:00pm. Woke up packed dinner for Dad and the whole night was juz the tv staring at me...

Sunday was teh same for me. Woke up at lunch time, had lunch with mummy, before I hit the bed again. had to attend cousin Ka Wai's wedding dinner which everyone in the family dread going. No choice, have to respect grams, so everyone put on a false front n smile fakely at the dinner. The dinner was at Grand Corpthrone Waterfront Hotel. The food was bad, the rest of the cousins were juz there to wack the wine. The 5 of us, all gers were juz happily drinking away. Even mummy join in the fun. Nowadays, mummy quite havoc, learn how to drink champaign n wine. U guys must look at the way she drink. Super Tai Tai can't stand that look on her face...

Anyway the dinner finish at about 11 plus, took some pix with grams n went back home aft tt, n u've guess it, I'm back to slumberland again...

I'm quite a good girl during the weekend, no late partying and booze for me, juz sleep....sleep...sleep...

SonyEricsson Z1010

I finally saw the phone set of Z1010 which I've been waiting patiently fro the past few months. Boy! Am I disappointed. The phone is huge and bulky. Its bigger than a PDA phone. Very disappointing!!! Guess what the retail price is #1250!!! The one that I got hold of was the import set. This phone is due to launch in Year 2005. So now I've to abort the idea of getting this phone and I'm back to my quest for searching another phone.

However, the guy introduced me to this new Samsung phone direct import from Korea. Its still due to lanuch next year. The phone is sleek, very lady-like, chrom-silver colour, flip LCD screen which can roate 360 degree. Check out the price - its $1000!!! The cost price is $990 so the ah-beng shop owner owns $10. According to him, his boss has good dealing with the Koreans thus they import a lot of weird, trendy phones from Sumsung which you seldom find in Singapore.

Anyway, the ah-beng keep pestering me to buy the phone. Hello?! Its $1000 u think $10 ah? Do I look like I print $$$...dun thnks so...I would say the design is very attractive but the price? nah... Moreover, I can't test the phone as they only have 1 piece so once they on it, I've to purchase it... So I guess, I've to forget about this darling and setlle on something which is more affortable, trusting and durable.

The Incredible

I went to watch The Incredible yesterday night with J. It was an entertaining and hilarious movie. Although the movie is 2hrs, but with the plot, action, pictures and laughter, you wouldn't feel it at all.

The main character Bob Parr used to be one of the world's greatest superheroes known as Mr. Incredible, saving lives and fighting evil on a daily basis. But now, fifteen years later, Bob and his wife (a famous former superheroes in her own right - Elastigirl) have adopted civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs to live "normal" life with their three kids, Violet, Dash and Jack Jack due to a failed rescue mission whom he got sued by the civilian and order to retire by the Government. Now, he is a clock-punching insurance claim agent fighting boredom and a bulging waistline. To fight boredom, he moonlight superheroes with his buddy frozen behind the back of his family. Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communications summons him to a remote island for a top-secret assignment.

Other character include Edna Mode - Superheroes Fashion Designer and Syndrome - overly obsessed superheroes wannabe who idolize Mr. Incredible and got rejected to be his side-kick. In a nutshell he is the villain with no powers.

I totally enjoyed the movie and you guys should go watch. So, this adds to my list of the second cartoon-I-paid-to-watch. Oh ya, juz in case you guys unaware, I dun watch cartoon in cinema.

The gang met up at Sunset Bay, Sentosa this morning. We went sun bathing, volley and Frisbee. There wasn't much hunk around. so sad.

The sun was freaking hot! As usual I applied sun block lotion to tan. Coz the effect will be very nice, Yes it might sound stopid but its tried and tested and it work for me so who cares!

We had so much fun at the beach. Seems like everyone is deprieve of childhood. But it was fun. Took quite a number of pix, will upload once Andy send to me. Which I know will take forever. or it will end up dunno at which folder....Think its time I get my own Digicam.

What pissed me off is the bathing part. Can U imagine I queeued 1 hrs juz to bath for 5 mins. Bloody hell! This gals ah, think they in Spa or hair salon. Take forever to bath. I alomost died waiting for my turn....

We went for sushi for dinner. Haven't ate so much for a long long time. Dav, Connie, Jerry, Remy and I head to Mount Faber. Actually we only stayed there fro abt 20mins before heading back home. Coz everyone was too tired to look at stars...

Mama Mia

After waiting for so long, I finally watch Mama Mia!!!

The story was good. But the actors' voice weren't as great. Didn't have much power. But it was very entertaining.

It was also my first time watching a play in Esplanade. Since I spend quite a lot on the tickets, i got quite good seat. But wat disappoint me is that there isn't much room space. Luckily theres a 1/2 hr interval, if not my legs will get numb aft the whole play. :)

2day is also baby Sarah's baby shower. But by the time I finish the play, grams and the rest have already left the place, so I didn't get to see Baby Sarah. But Mum said she got big eyes and very chubby.

*Hello* she is 10 pounds! How can you expect her not be chubby?

I had dinner with the gang before I head back home.

Went to the Singapore MotorShow 2004 at Suntec Convention Center.

Wow! you guys must definetly not miss this! The cars were double wow! Especially the Lexus concept car. I almost went crazy over it. Look at the pix!

The headlights were tastefully designed. The exhaust pipe was well hidden. The seats are white and classy, The doors open 2-way. This was indeed a babe! Its a must have provided you have that type of cash. J couldn't stop drooling over the car. He took video clips of the car and MMS to his Dad. He said that if he owns this car, he will only drive at a maximum of 30k/hr which I can't stop laughing! This car is perfect! The only thing that spoil the pix is the stoopid woman. *puke*

The Honda Jazz was so cute. Suddenly got the urge to tak my driving license. keekee...

We went to watch TAXI. We couldn't get the 5 plus slot, we end up watching the 9:30 slot. The three of us had dinner at Lip's Cafe and went to Acid Bar for a drink and chill out there.

U guys must go catch TAXI. Its definetly worth your $8.50 Very funny and hilarious. I laugh throughout the whole show. keekee...

We went for billard and I head home at abt 3 plus

Today is Thomas and Adeline ROM day. Congratulation!!!

After the ceremony, I met up with them at Teahouse, China Square. Saw the parents of the couple. Thomas look exactly the same ad his Dad. After meal, its where the sabotage start. Ricky brought out this huge wine glass, which is enough to pour in 7 bottles of wine. That is how huge the wine glass was. We made the couple finish everything. We also made Thomas dirty dance with Adeline. We had so much fun. Everyone can't stop laughing. The boys were very naughty with all the funny tricks up their sleeves.

Next, we proceed to a Turkish caf茅 nearby and continue the boozing session. It was 1-for-1. We ordered 2 pint of whole garden beer each. There were a total of 15 of us. So you can imagine how many pint were there on the table. Whole Garden is one beer that everyones like so much. The after effect is very nice and soothing. I also tried the Shisha or otherwise known as water pipe. It was cherry flavored. Very funI totally look like a filthy rich tai tai.

We continued the party at one of the karaoke joint at Prince Edward Road. Everyone was very high. The guys stripped! Ok relax let me finish first We played the lame song from Alex To Tou diao, literally translated as Take off or Strip. The guys got so excited and stripped, only their tops. So hilarious. Actually, it wasnt any drooling experience coz everyone had a big, fat, round tummy.

Kor and I went back at about 11 plus. We starting drinking since 4 pm in the afternoon. The rest continued the party.

A little write-up on Shisha
Shisha smoking uses a process by which the smoking sublimates are passed through a pot containing water. The pot is connected on one side to a mouth piece via a tube and to the other side to a receptacle containing the tobacco to be consumed. The material
and size of the pot and tubing differ from one type to another. The tobacco used in Shisha is called Meassel which is a mix of ordinary tobacco and molasses (or fruit juice, where it is called after the name of the fruit juice used) in ratio 1:2.4. Meassel is put in a clay container called Hagar where it is burnt with pieces of coal. The tobacco content of one Hagar is called Korsi and is almost equivalent in weight to one cigarette

Saturday
********
Met up with some friends whom we haven't met for a long time. We had dinner and when to watch a HK movie Abnormal Beauty, directed by the director of The Eye and The Eye 2.

It was such a crap show. Basically its about this girl who is so into arts and photography. One fine day, she witnesses a car accident and suddenly she got urge to photograph the victim. And from then on she got so into take bloody pix especially the dead. Then, a mystery person start sending her pix for dead people and further on a video on how a girl got beaten to death. The leads lesbo friend later on became the victim and followed by the lead. In the end, we found out that the murderer was some bookstore sale person who was never introduced to the audience.

It was such a waste of time and money!!! All of us was traumatized by the movie...

Ok enough on the movie. We went to East Coast Park to chat, Since my friend's car was full and I was the one wearing jeans (the rest of the girls wore skirts), I had to take friends bike. It was exciting as I haven't rode a bike for million years. Dun worry, my friend is no hell rider. I must say I looked like tweety bird when I wore the helmet. It was a bit too big for me.

We went to the jetty to look at people fishing. We chatted throughout the night and took off at about 4 plus.

Sunday
******
Got drag out from my cozy bed by mummy. She wanted me to accompany her for shopping. This coming Sunday is baby Sarah's baby shower, so mummy wanted to get her something from the jewelry shop.

We went to visit my grand auntie. Apparently she wanted to go shopping with us so we went over to her place for lunch. She made popiah and I was such a pig! I ate 3 big fat popiah. Its not those that you purchase from food court or some eatery joint. Its those hokkien style where there are many different types of ingredient. It very fun as we get to wrap them on our own and we get to choose which ingredients we want to add, to add more or to add less, all according to your liking. I havent had popiah for a very long long time plus I didnt get to eat much for dinner the day before. So that explained why I ate so much.

After lunch, we went shopping. Its one of those olden days jewelry shop. Acutally I should say its goldsmith shop, I totally sympathies the sale person. Got bullied by my grand auntie, my auntie and mummy. They really bargained with him for a good price. Apparently, I heard my grand auntie was his regular customer, so I guess he has got no choice but to give a real good price. It was so embarrassing so grand aunt has got VERY loud voice, so pratically everyone could hear wat she say....

You can see their satisfied face after they close the deal. But I must say it was indeed a good price. Sometimes you really need to give it to the aunties, they are real good on bargaining. Frankly I wouldnt buy anything from that shop. The design is so corny. More suitable for the older generation.

We went to visit grams in the afternoon and had dinner over there.

Working on Saturday is always unproductive, inefficient and a waste of time....

Bascially, thats nothing much for you to do except to surf the net, read the papers, and loiter around...

Was at Orchard yesterdat aft work, X'mas decor were all up, but still I dun feel the ambience, Which is weird, normally, every year when it hit Nov, I'll be extremly excited. All the festive seasons are round the corner...

There will be two major holiday coming next week. Deepavali on Thursday and Hari Raya on Sunday which means that Monday will be declare as a public holiday. Initially, planned to go Hong Kong with my family for a short retreat, but nothing is materialize so I guess I'll stay at home and rot.

I can't wait for 14 Nov to come. Coz I'm watching Mama Mia and also, its my baby niece baby shower.

Its again another lazy afternoon with no plans...so I guess its back home aft knocking off and rot thru the day....I think I really should find something to do... Think I should go n take my diving license. Have always been dying to go get one...Or perhaps I should start taking my driving lesson. I;m really bored with my current life...no goals and everyday is juz waiting for the next day to come.... Wat am I doing...

Friday, November 05, 2004

I sneaked out from the office yesterday and went to the Wine for Asia exhibition at Singapore Expo. Met my event managers for my furniture show held in Sept. We had such a great time chatting, gossiping and tasting the wine. Those award winning wines by Decanter and Miundus Vini were good.

however some of the wines were very young. Vintage mainly from 2002-2004. The organizer explained that its teh culture of Asian as normally they can't wait to drink the wine once they bought it so those wine that the exhibitors bring in is mostly young wine.

Its quite disappointing they do not have my favourite Cloudy Bay. But, on the whole the wines over there were good.

Kor and his colleagues, Thomas and Raymond was there too. So since Kor is a sommelier, I naturally followed him around to taste the wines. Its the first time I see him behaving so professionally. I mean you look at his facial expression when he taste the wines, damn pro. They saw a few of their suppliers over at the exhibitions. When introduced, they were shocked to find out that Kor and me are blood related siblings. Of coz, all were saying that we both look alike, as though we were photocopied. *roll eyes* Thats the usual comments we get so I'm pretty used to that. It seems that kor is very popular with the suppliers, coz everywhere we walked, we hear people calling his name and the same old thing again on how we looked alike.

Rosalyn, Serene and Sharon, my events managers were teasting me of haivng such a "kheng" brother. Knowing how to taste wine etc. Of coz I juz smiled. Of coz they did asked him which are the good wines...

When I look at him talking, I feel the comfort that finally there is one thing that he is capable of and not rot his life away.

While he was talking to them, I had a good chat with Thomas and Raymond and as usual they like to tease me. Saying since when I know how to taste wine. Oh ya! Thomas and Adeline getting registered next Friday. So I'm invited to ROM ceremony which I'm afraid I'll not be able to make it since its in the afternoon and I've got to work. Probably will join them aft work for the party.

I started drinking at about 2pm so by the time we left the place at about 6, I was a little high. We went to Club Chinois as Raymong got to go back and work while kor was meeting Eric there. As usual, the moment Ricky saw me, he start his nonsense again. SOmetimes I wonder, why am I always the target. I've already kept my mounth shut when I'm around them yet I still get shot. Do I have the come-snoke-me face?! Of coz I know they meant no harm and theres no personal attack. Whats importtant is that, at the end of the day, all of them dote on me...

Hmm... I'm thinking of the Tim Sum buffet they serve during Sunday and I'm drooling *slurp* oe of these days, I should go back there again....

New Skin

I think its time to change my blogskin. Dec is approaching, so no more the sunshine thingy liaoz...

So I decided to get them bleach. Once and for all. As for the cigarette, I'l slowly quitting....But it really take a lot of determination which I'm lack off....

Life's getting more stressful each day... I've dateline every other day... My F***ing bitchy manager giving me ridiculous task and dateline everyday. My face is atrious, big fat pimples all over my forehead...I haven't been sleeping well, will always wake up in the middle of the night, and thats it! I can't fall asleep. Will be left staring at the ceiling for the next few hrs. And when my eyes are finally tired, its time to go for work...

These days I dreed going to work. Franking speaking, I think I've lost my interest in my job. Everyday I get people asking me "Clariss, are you ok? You dun look well" "I'm fine, thank you" is always my answer. I know everyone is concerned, but hey when I tell you I'm ok, juz take it. Stop porbing hoping to fish out anything. Quit being a bitch! Its very fustrating when you have to repeat the answer over and over again to the same person everyday. These people are driving my nuts. Yes I appreciate your concern. But why can't u understand that by leaving me to be alone, after a while I'll be alright. Dun you know that when one is vexed, the more you probe the more vexed he gets...And for goodness, when you are the one giving me problem, stop showing ur fake concern to me, trying showing me THE caring boss act. It juz get me sick n tired and I'll start puking! If everyone else share the same sentiments as me, the problem is not us its you! I wonder when you start to realize the reality?! Stop saying that "If you dun understand what I meant, you should ask me" Coz I've tried that and you always change your idea every single day! Stop being flickle-minded! Ass-hole!

2046

Took mc 2day. Didn't go to work. I guess I didn't sleep well last night.

I went to have my hair cut before meeting Michelle to watch wong Kai Wai's 2046.

I had high expectation for this much-awaited movie since there was so much hype on it.

Well, I should say I loved the pictures and the wasy it was shoot. The picture was definetly better than In the Mood of Love. However, the plot was too abstract. OVer dose of Wong Kai Wai. you must be a true Wong Kai Wai fan in order to understand this movie.

2046 is a spin-off from his two previous work - In the mood of Love and Days of Being Wild. The Character played by Carnia Lau and Zhang Zhen was from Days of Being Wild. While Zhou Mu Yun, played by Tony Leung was a continual character from In the Mood of Love. It protray how human are constantly seeking for love. The character Zhou Mu Yun totally protray how men doesn't have the guts to faced his love. The lines by all the characters are simple yet it brings out the agony faced by human beings who are being traumatized by love.

I love the robot character played by Faye Wong. Her body language was superb! Guess she will win the Best Female Lead. I personally don't think Tony Leung have much hope for the Best Male Lead. Though its one of his most satisfied character played so far, but I still think something is missing. Perhaps too much media attention is being placed on the development of the character to the extend where I feel that it has lost its unique touch or x factor.

I'll give 4/5 stars for picture and 3 star for story plot.

Today is my last day in Bangkok.

We had American Breakfast in the hotel before heading off fro some last min shopping. We went to Pratunam and Mah Boon Khoong. Managed to buy some more gifts for everybody.

the group went for some Traditional Thai Massage. I opted for the Full body Massage while the rest went fro the foot, shoulder and head massage. It was very relaxing and I fell asleep. Thai Massage is more of pressing and stretching. Very different from Swedish or Balinese Massage. Before we head back to the hotel, I managed to savour another plate of Fried Oyster. I know I'll missed them when I'm back in Singapore.

We went back to the hotel at about 4 plus to pack everything into our luggage. I had 1 full backpack, 1 hang carry (my gym bag) and a plastic bag full of tibits. Mine is still manageable. The rest of them, they had a least 4-5 luggage. Our total checked in luggage was 88kgs. If we group checked in, we were only allowed 90kgs. The rest of the stuff, they didn't managed to pack it in, thus all had to be hand carried. I guessed the massage earlier was of not much help, all went down the drain as now I've to be the coolie and help the rest of them carry their baggage *shake head* What have got myself into???

Our flight was scheduled to be 8:15pm. All of us managed to grab something to eat before boarding the plane. The flight wasn't fully occupied. only about 1/3 full. Anyway, there was this charming guy seating in the same row as me, but was on the other section. He was very tall, at least 1.85 i suppose. spiky hair, sharp nose, the very clean and neat look that I liked. He was alone, nobody was with him. Nah... didn't plan to approach him, or I should say I didn't have the guts to do it. Plus, I haven't got over the previous one.... anyway I was attacked my Z-monster, so I dooze off not long.

The flight touch down safely at about 11:50pm. we head straight to the Duty Free store to get some liquor and beer. I took a cab home. Kor and Ma was waiting for me, I showed ma the end result of my shopping spree, she didn't comeneted much. Juz say that it was very unlike of me to buy so little stuff which I totally agreed with her.

I guess this trip, was more of an intention to get away from all the unhappy stuff which I'm experiencing lately. My intention was to relax and went for some sightseeing. Sadly it wasn't achieved. Nevertheless, being able to get outta the country is better than staying at home...what more can I ask for? I guess I'm more inclined to those beach holiday where you do nothing but juz rot your life away. O0r those where you get to visit the famous places in the world. My whole 5D4N Bangkok trip is juz to shop and eat my life away, the part that I enjoyed the most is the 1/2 tour that we went. Though tiring, but I did managed to grab a lot of cheap and nice clothes back. I guess I wouldn't be shopping in Far East of bugis fro quite some time to think that they got their stuff from Bangkok and mark up the price to 300-400% One the whole, I did enjoyed myself....

Today, we went to Pratunam, 10mins walk from Asia Hotel. Its a openair wholesale market. As we were walking around I realize that the clothes theres were very much similar to those we have in Far East and Bugis Village. However, the price is so much cheaper. 1 skirt is only SG 4-5bucks. I bought a lot of bottoms. The tops and tees there are very nice but they were all mirco-mini. The large size is equivilant to our small or medium size which I can't squeeze in.

We went to Suhkumvit for lunch. Theres this Japanese Restaurant at Suhkumvit Thonglor 55 named Oyishi where they served good Japanese food. We had theri buffet lunch. Well, I partically wacked the whole sushi and sashimi bar. The yakkitori and Tepanyakki was also very good. I totally lost control over the sashimi and they are very fresh....

We went back to the hotel to freshen up before heading down to Suan Lum Market again. Since, we were there once, this time round, we concentrate on the things we want to buy and head straight the the store, no more see see look look strategy. Managed to buy quite a number a tees for my friends.

We settled our dinner at one of the Thai Chinese Restaurant located right outside market. The Crab Tanghoon was great. We also ordered Tom Yam soup. It wasn't very good but the seafood was very fresh and juicy especially the flower crab. I realize that the Thai like to use flower crab for their dishes

After dinner, we decided to head down to the Thailand famous red-light district - Patpong. Wow! I must say the transvestite were very beautiful. The guys there have very good complextion, very fair and boyish look. When they smile, they look charming. Too bad they are in the line so, cannot be fool by them. As we walk along the street, we were constantly approach by the pimps to go into the bar to watch the "shows" Some of the door were not fully closed, thus I managed to catch a few glimpse of Bar top dancing and tiger show. It was indeed an eye opening experience.

As we were about to make our way back to the hotel, we stop by a road side stall and tried some of the deep fried grasshoppers and beatles. Only Nancy and I got the guts to try. The grasshoppers were very tasty, like crackers. As for the beatles, they were very gigantic, so I didn't try them. If only, they have baby ones. The rest of the girls were so disgusted by me as I kept asking for more grasshoppers. Its really very nice....

Today, we join a half-day tour to the Traditional Floating Market. Its located at the outskit of Bangkok. It was a long drive thus, all of us have to wake up pretty early. The coach came to pick us up at about 6:30am.

The first stop was to the coconut plantation to see the variety of product you can get from 1 single coconut. In Bangkok, you can find coconut everywhere. Its also a source of income for them. I bought some coconut sugar for mama so that she can make her well known kuei kosui.

Next stop, was to the floating market. It was a 20 mins drive from teh coconut plantation. Once we were there, we had to take a 15min long tail boat ride. You can find a lot of houses along the river, even provision shop and cafe. You will n otice that all of these houses are facing the river as their daily life depend very much on it. Washing, bathing, drinking, etc. So you can imagine how "clean" the water in the river is.... We finally reached the famous floating market. The 6 of us hopped on to one of the boat to experience the true sell-buy of the market. the boatman manuvour thru the river like a pro. i didn't buy anything except a coconut to quench my thrist. Well, there variety of stuff wasn't very atractive...

Our next stop was to the traditional wood carving factory. These Thais are very skillful. There was this guy who carve a 3D wood piece with trees and apes. Every single detail of the tree and the apes was paid attention to. The wood piece was very majestic and eye-opening...

Following which, we head back to the hotel. The journey took about 1 1/2 hrs to cross the river. The secenery along the river was very calm n nice. But I dooze off not long after... By the time we reached the hotel, it was 2pm. We quickly went to the near-by eating place for lunch.

After that, we took a cab to Central Shoppping Mall to meet up with Poh Lay's sister and sis-in-law. Well, the whole cab waiting was quite upset. One of the cab driver who was "stationed" outside the hotel tried to be helpful to bring us there. As we do not know the exact location of the Shopping Mall, we had a hard time trying to tell the driver where we are going as we can't really pronounce the street name. Poh Lay sis-in-law spoke to the driver over the phone and told him the place. After they hung up, the driver said that the place was very far and it was about 1 hr ride. Ridiculars! We were told by the sister that, it will only take 20mins max to go from our hotel to the mall. We then realize that the driver was a crook so we quickly went back to the hotel lobby and get the staff there to help us.

Luckily, we reached the mall safely. I went to the salon to highlight my hair while the est continued their shopping spree. We met up again about an hr ltr. The sister brought us to these Teochew Chinese/Thai Roadside eating joint for dinner. We order quite a number a dishes. All were delicious esp the Flower Crab Steaboat. The soup was superb!

After dinner, we went to the local Masa Malam where the Thai teenage fequesnt. Its something like Bugis Village. Each shop is about 3x3sqm and there are a least 3000 to 4000 of them there. Over there, the stuff is dirt cheap, we dun really need to bargain. If you are lucky, you will get about max 10-30 bhat cheaper. I bought a few tees for kor, and shorts for kor and papa.

The last stop was to Chinatown for some bird nest soup for supper. We order the 3rd grade for about 300 bhat each. Its bird nest with ginko nut and rock sugar. Very refreshing but its quite sweet. Actually to the Thais its considered normal, but to us, its considered sweet. So remember, the next time you order beverage of food in Thailand, must make sure to tell the hawker, you don't want it to be so sweet, if not, sugar rush is unavoidable.

We reach the hotel at about 1am, adn its too slumberland...

Saturday, October 09, 2004

We stared the day at 8 am. As our hotel deal didn't include breakfast, so we had to settle our own breakfast. We walked around the neighborhood and finally found this roadside stall selling you zha kwei. It was very crispy and nice. Its not the usual longish one we find in Singapore. The ones on Singapore is about 1/3 of it. The young lady converse to us in mandarin. Amazing! She said that they open the stall at 5 in the morning! Dun be surprise coz in Thailand, hawkers start their day early to avoid the heat in the late morning. Open in 5am *evil grin* thinking of tomorrow's breakfast.

After breakfast, we made our way to Chap Tut Chap. Its very hugh, about 40hec. in area. You can find all sort of things there. Price is still reasonable. I bought surf shorts, skirts and a watch. My oh my! The weather is a killer. The crowd made things worse. I was constantly searching for mineral water. Notice that I mention mineral water? Yes, the water in Thailand is not suitable for consumption. Actually, it can be consume, but I guessed Singaporeans are too kiasee so we are told to only take mineral water. Thank God that I heed my cousins' advice, wear minimum. My whole tank top was soaked wet with my perspiration. We spilt up into 2 groups, Roanna, Stephanie and Poh Lay one group, while Nicole, Nancy and myself another group. After the Chap Tut Cha, pwe proceed to Thailand Cultural Center for lunch.

Once we reach there, we went to Robinson for lunch, again we had to purchase coupons before we can purchase the food. We ordered a few dishes to share. This foodcourt is not very foreigners-prone coz all the food listed on the menu is in Thai which we dun understand at all. Nicole and I were asking each other which stall sell tom yam soup. One of the local overheard our conversation and help us. He spoke pretty good mandarin. Help us ordered what we wanted, very nice of him. Actually the Thai are a friend group of people. Even when they dun understand you, they will flash their colegate teeth and nod. It can be quite frustrating sometimes because when you thought that they got wat you meant, but in actual fact they dun. But I guess that's their culture to be friendly and polite. Oh ya, did I mentioned that they are very soft-spoken?

After lunch, we continued to shop. Went to Carrefour to buy some tom yam, green curry paste. After which, we head down to Robinson. As we were approaching, we saw this mini bike race for kids. All the kids were dressed like a pro racer. Very cute. We stood there to watched for while before heading in to Robinson. We were quite a few mens top. Actually to find a decent and nice mens top, you have to go to departmental stores, those weekend market and roadside store, you can't find anything nice. We also bought a lot of lingerie. Can you imagine in all we spent about 20,000 baht juz on lingerie, which is equivalent S$800+ Scary! All the bras and undies are dirt-cheap. I'm still the sensible one, only bought 2 bras and 5 undies. Oh which, only 2 were mine. So imagine the bras and undies the rest of them bought... I wonder how they pack their luggage...

Following the lingerie shopping, we walked down to the nearby hotel foe its well known Teochew Porridge Buffet. I was starve! Imagine the number of shopping bags I have to carry for the rest of them?! Shake head... we made our way back our hotel to put our stuff before heading out again for shopping... We went to the Suan Lum Market at Lumphini. Its sortta similar as Chap Tut Chap but its much cleaner and organized. We continued buying and bargaining before we drop dead at the roadside cafe before making our way back. Had a quick shower and sunk into my bed. I fell asleep before I know it, by the time I opened my eyes its already 7 am I guess Roannas snore didnt have any effect on me.

Arrive at the airport at 11am to check in. Went for a light snacks. The six of us is taking Budget airline Tiger Airway. Its actually very cheap. Round trip inclusive of tax is about $199 per person. Well, my cousin-in-law, Roanna, and her friends got it at a even cheaper price - $40 per ticket. Can you imagine that?! I saw Lawrence in the airport. He was on shift, so he checked my passport. He look kinda of funny, maybe its due to the hair.

*Law, if you are reading this, time to cut your hair. U dun suit long hair especially in uniform*

Since its a budget airline so theres no seat allocation. Its on first-come-first-serve basis. But to make things better, they let the passengers into the aircraft by batches. Since we were super kiasu, we were the first 10 to board the plane.

There were 6 seats per row. 3 on the right and 3 on the left. There isnt any television or radio. Not much leg space too. I mean for ladies is still ok, but for guys, it might be a little cramp. As the aircraft is small, we actually experience quite fair bit of turbulence. But I guess if Im not wrong, turbulence depends very much on route the aircraft is taking and also weather. Perhaps the aircraft is small, thus the impact is greater. We were not served any drink or food. We need to purchase from the flight attendants. Well, I should say the price is reasonable. Of coz, you cant compare to the 7-eleven pricing. On the whole, it was a smooth ride; we take off and land safely. No delay in flight at all. It was very prompt.

We touch down in Bangkok International Airport at 3:30pm (Thailand Time). We arranged for the hotel transfer, so the hotel suppose to pick us up from the airport. But the driver made a big boo-boo. He was waiting for us at Terminal 1 while we were at Terminal 2. So we wasted half an hour playing hide-and-seek. Finally, we saw the vehicle and off we zoom to the Asia Hotel.

I finally experience the traffic jam in Bangkok. But luckily the driver took the highway,, thus only certain of the journey, we experienced the jam. I should say, its the traffic light that is causing the problem. For the traffic light to change from red to green, it will take at least 5mins.

After a 45mins ride, we finally reach Asia Hotel and checked in to our respective room. After we settle our luggage, we set off to Mah Boon Knoong for our dinner as everyone is starving to death. MBK is two stop from our hotel. So we decided to take the BTS (equivalent to Singapores LRT) In fact, I should say Asia Hotel is very accessible. The BTS is juz right in front of the hotel.

Once we reached MBK, we zoomed to the food court. Their food court is very different from those in Singapore. We need to purchase coupons in order to buy the food. I find it a good system indeed as the hawker need not handle any notes. Very hygienic. I love the fried oyster. Its very different from those we have in Singapore. The Thai fry the eggs separately from the oysters. When you eat the eggs, its like eating potatoes chips. Very crispy. The oysters are gigantic and juicy. The dish also come with bean sprout. They also have very nice pork knuckle.

After topping up our fuel, we started our shopping. Didnt get much stuff, only a pair of addidas 戮 pants for about S$15. Quite a good bargain. After the shopping, we walked down to Hard Rock Caf茅. Wanted to drop by for a drink, but it was jam packed with Ang Mo, so we settled down at this caf茅 joint called Billie Jean Caf茅. That are area around Hard Rock Caf茅 resemble Holland V and Siglap. Theres a lot of caf茅 joint and Irish Pub. I ordered a Iced Latte which suz big time, Theres no espresso taste, only milk. The girls discussed where to go tomorrow and settled at Chap Tut Chap Weekend Market. We then returned back to the hotel to grab some rest.

I shared room with Roanna, which I dragged. Reason being, she snore big time. Youve guessed it! I experienced her choo-choo train throughout the whole night. Damn it. Lucky me, I managed to catch a few hrs of sleep at about 4 plus

Getaway in Bangkok

My flight and hotel has been confirmed. Will be leaving for Bangkok this Friday and returning next Tuesday, 12th Nov. This will be a solely shop, eat, shop, eat, shop, eat and grow fat holiday. The 6 of us, all girls will make sure that we buy the whole of Bangkok back.

We are taking budget airline, Tiger Airways, Round trip tickets inclusive of tax is only $199. Actually this is not the cheapest. One of my cousins got it at $40 per trip (excluding tax). Damn we missed that offer. It was swept away within a few hours. But nevertheless, $199 to Bangkok is a good bargain.

I'm really looking froward to this trip, like a mention a million times before, for all the stress & nonsense from work and home, I desperately need a holiday...

The usual boring Sunday

Woke up at 11 in the morning, acccompany pa, ma and kor to teh temple. Yes..you guys must be wondering what the hell am I doing there, Coz Pa and Ma meeting Auntie in the afternoon, Ma wants the whole family to have lunch together since, Kor's off day is seldom on Sunday.

After lunch, Kor and I went back home to nap, and in the evening, we went to visit granny. We had our dinner there before heading down to Ricky and Daphne place for their house-warming party.

Dap and Rick shifted to Sin Ming Walk, The Gardens. The condo was majestic. Its very European style. Much much more better than the previous place in Newton. The best part is that they are paying much lesser. I guess location really plays a big part.

It was another usual round of booze and pig out session with the usual gang. The party started at 2 in the afternoon, but we were only there at about 8 plus, so most of them left. Only Thomas, Adeline, Eric couple, Alfred and the new gf, and Raymond was there. Raymond look much more radiant than the last time I met him. Guess he has recovered from the break up with Miko. Back to the charming and cheeky Raymond. We really had a great time. Its been a while since the last time we drank.

After the booze and food, we up to their apartment to "view" their love nest. It was very spacious and cosy. Managed to catch the last 15mins of the Man U match. The whole gang got super pissed especially Ray as the match was a draw...must have lost quite a sum of $$$ Serve him right! But only Kor and me were the happy ones around coz Man U sux big time!!! Too much arrogant player around...

Anyway, the movie was damn funny! I can't quit laughing. Its really a booboo of the Hilton Sister. You guys should catch this show.

After of the downs I've been going through this few months, I feel much better, at least I know I still have my laughing nerve intact...

The Next Chapter

Today should call for a celebration initially. But things aren't the way you want them to be. Instead of feeling happy, it was a big time trashing session. managed to talk things out, but I still can't accept the lame and stupid accusation that was up against me... Fuck! What have I done to deserve this.

And those lame sms-es, I really don't need them. Frankly, The more I see them, the more I feel like *gizz! they really sound like movies lines that was copied wholesale*

Though, the feeling is still strong within me, but I guess I should move on to the next chapter of my life. Life the saying goes "It take two hands to clap"

LIfe is too short to get angry, upset and devasated...

After a month long break from the gym, I finally gto my butt back to the gym yesterday.

When I got there, all the treadmill was occupied, very fustrating. I decided to try cycling. Cycled for 20mins before I decided to try the boxercise. Its definetly my cup of tea. With the fast music and punches, backkicks and high kicks, I really perspire like a pig. The first half of the work out, I definetly punch with style. As though I'm Bruce Lee, but the next hald, I ran out of stamina and I look like Worm Lee. Its so embarrasing...After an hour of intense work out, not a single spot of my outfit is dry!

After washing up, the feeling is like combination of hunting the wild bore and wrestling the bunch of bull. ok I'm not trying to exaggrate things. When I got home, I juz sink into my bean bag and quit moving an inch of my butt...

Well, I definetly love the class. Very powerful music and moves. Hope this will help to trim my flabby arms...

Going to the Ladies can never be so stress...

This is dedicated to women everywhere who have ever had to deal with a public restroom (rest??? you've got to be kidding!!).

My mother was a fanatic about public bathrooms. When I was a little girl, she'd take me into the stall, teach me to wad up toilet paper and wipe the seat. Then, she'd carefully lay strips of toilet paper to cover the seat. Finally, she'd instruct, "Never, NEVER sit on a public toilet seat. Then she'd demonstrate "The Stance," which consisted of balancing over the toilet in a sitting position without actually letting any of your flesh make contact with the toilet seat. By this time, I'd have wet down my leg and we'd have to go home to change my clothes. That was a long time ago.

Even now, in my more "mature years, "The Stance" is excruciatingly difficult to maintain, especially when one's bladder is full. When you have to "go" in a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women that makes you think there's a half-price sale on Nelly's underwear in there. So, you wait and smile politely at all the other ladies, who are also crossing their legs and smiling politely. You get closer and check for feet under the stall doors. Every one is occupied.

Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall. You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter. The dispenser for the new fangled "seat covers" (invented by someone's Mum, no doubt) is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook if there were one but there isn't so you carefully but quickly hang it around your neck (mum would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!), yank down your pants, and assume "TheStance." Ahhhh, relief. More relief. But then your thighs begin to shake. You'd love to sit down but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold "The Stance" as your thighs experience a quake that would register an eight on the Richter scale. To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser.

In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, "Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!" Your thighs shake more. You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday -the one that's still in your purse. That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It is still smaller than our thumbnail. Someone pushes open your stall door because thelatch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet. "Occupied!" you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle, and sliding down, directly onto the insidious toilet seat. You bolt up; knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper -not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly ashamed of you if she knew, because you're certain that her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, "You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get."

By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, sending up a stream of water akin to a fountain that suddenly sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged off to China. At that point, you give up. You're soaked by the splashing water. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket, and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks. You can't figure out how to operate the taps with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past a line of women, still waiting, cross-legged and, at this point, no longer able to smile politely.

One kind soul at the very end of the line points out that you are trailing a piece of toilet paper on your shoe as long as the Mississippi River!(Where was it when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it the woman's hand and tell her warmly, "Here, you just might need this." As you exit, you spot your hubby/boyfriend, who has since entered, used and exited the men's restroom and read a copy of War and Peace while waiting for you. Annoyed, he asks, "What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?"

With this, it might finally explain to the men what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked question about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other woman can hold the door and hand you Kleenex under the door.

Its been 5 days since I last blog in, so I thought i should pop by and leave a note before bloggie gets cobwebs....

Going through the love tide of my love life now, dun worry, I'll be alright! I'm a strong girl remember?! Anyway think we both need some time to cool ourselves down and work things out, once thats done, I guess everythings should be alright...

My new Executive Director is reported to the office on Monday. Its a lady boss again?! Damn it! Next time I should juz shut my bloody mouth up coz the other day I was juz telling my colleague, April that I hope the new boss will be a lady and our "step-monther" cannot bootlick her and clash face-to-face with her. Then, both of us will juz prepare popcorns and teddy bear, sit back, relax and enjoy the show...
Wish me luck everyone!!!I hope the working style of the new boss is the same as April and me, can click with us and end our miserable life...

I'm attending a Dinner and Dance this evening. My first time, such a mountain turtle!!! The theme is Viva Vegas, dress code - glamour and glitter. April and I gto so excited although we were there coz there isn't anyone going so we need to be there to fill up the seat. Nevertheless, we want to enjoy ourselves and have fun. Sound like we are going there to be a vase...but who cares, wats important is to enojoy and have fun!!! Agree?!

The Rubbish Bin Saga

I've juz finish reading Jiejie blog entry - Her ordeal with the Rubbish bins in Germany.

I can't help but agree that the Germans are making our toes laughing the toenails out (Very cool description). What stupid and ridiculers environmental regulations they have... Have a million rules and regulations but the main point is they dun provide rubbish bin!!! I think now she super stree out when she wants to throw her rubbish and with all the ferocious & gigantic monsters (dogs) around contribute more to the "adventure"

*JIe, luckily both can-boy and you are ok. Maybe next time you should bring a rod with you juz in case...or better still ask KK to throw them when he is back from camp. He more big size and muscular, those monster will be scared of him...Alternatively, try to talk to the building management guy from your block, ask him to get a bin solely for your block and rem to tape it with the name of your block. As for the cost, think all the resident should share them. This way, there wouldn't be anymore upset in the neighbourhood plus you dun need to risk your life the next time you throw the rubbish...

Through this incident, I'm really very glab that we don't experience such problem in Singapore. We have the luxury of rubbish chute within the kitchen (old type HDB flat) or at the common walkway (new type of HDB flat). For who staying private apartments, bins are provided right outside with porch. So, the next time mama complaint about the maintenance fee again, I will relate this incident to her....

My Asia Pacific Furniture Fair is finally over. Was at the hall this morning to witness the tearing down. That little corner in my heart can't help but feel sad... This nine months has been a great learning experience for me.

Another news from office, a few of my colleague are leaving the comnpany. In view of cutting down manpower (as requested by the tenants and members) the company has decided not to employ anymore new staff. Which means that, from now on, I'll be taking on more role such as leasing and operations apart from my inital project management. Good luck to me, coz now I'm really Over-worked and Under-paid!!!

My Beloved Grandpa!

Today mark the first death anniversary (the lunar calendar) of my beloved Grandpa!

Times flew by before you knew it... Till date, I still misses him badly. But I'm sure he is now well protected by the angels in heaven where he suffer no more pain from the cause which took his life away from us.

I will never forget his last days where he spent in the hospital. I never forget how miserable he look, being torture by sickness, how everyday he has to endure the pain and swallow down at least 9 over pills after each meal...how in the last days where painkiller no longer take effect and he has to live on morphine....the look on his face when I feed him with food and medicine still linger in my mind even till now.

Everytime when I look at his pix in my mobile, it reminds me of the days when he played with me in his rattan factory when I was a kiddo. How I drool at the mangoes, papaya, rambutan, mangosteen and other tropical fruits that he planted in his garden.

The pain of not being able to see his last look tears me apart. Everytime I look at his urn, it always bring back a lot of memories...the whole family sat by his deathbed...

As I type this now, tears roll down my cheecks uncontrollably...yeye...I really misses you...

Sometimes I really wonder what satisfaction do I get having worked so hard everyday. I can't help to feel that whatever I've done is not being appreciated by the company. To make things worse, even my immediate boss thinks that. Although it wasn't said out aloud, but it definetly shown on the face. Being the one who is doing all the ground work and direct liaise with my vendor, I've always try to maintain a neutral position between them and my company. From day 1 till now, theres a lot of upset among two. Take for example, certain issue that my bosses are very pissed off with my vendor and bitch to my abt it, in order not to add on the fire, I try to mellow things, the story I heard from both side to me its just a misunderstanding. A lot of times, to make my working relationship easier with them, I will console and pacify them. Because of this, my own boss is "accusing" me of taking sides! At the end of the day, I question myself, who is my boss?

The Labour of my "Baby"

Tomorrow is the Opening Ceremony of APFF. I took over this project in January when I joined the company. Finally, after nine long months of struggle, the show is finally here. Was at the hall for the past two days to oversea the construction of the booth by variious exhibitors. The whole team were like "loansharks" as 1/3 of the exhibitors has not paid up, therefore we were there to stop them from construction. It was definetely a scary and exciting experiences as you can see these exhibitos in order to delay the payment, will come up with all sort of lame excuses hoping that we will buy it, but too bad, my accounts dept is too smart for them to handle. Yday we had to pack abt 15,000 goodie bag for the coming weekend.

After all the preparation and hard work put in by both my company and the event manager, I do hope that this premium show will live up to its reputation - The Biggest Home Furnishing Show in Singapore.

If anyone of you happen to head down to the EXPO this weekend, you might want to pop by Hall 6 to visit the Asia Pacific Furniture Fair. Also there will be a dog show this Sunday at Hall 4, Giant Supermart is having their warehouse sale at Hall 5 and Popular Bookfare at Hall 3!!!

... my taggy has gone cranky! .....

I can't sems to tag ... so sad!

Yday ordeal over at the EXPO was dreadful... To sumerize, we got backstab by our own boss. All I can say is that a pleaser like him cannot make decision. At the end of the day, the glory goes to him, while the shit goes to us!

Frankly speaking, I dun mind looking dumb or wat, however, it really shocked me that whatever decision that I made, he just brush it off even when we were given the authority to make such decision. Its damn difficult working with such people coz end up you will always be the one kena bombarded by everyone. So, from now onwards, whatever decision that has to be made on site, even when its a tiny winny matter, I'll call him on his mobile to decide. I dun wanna be a target board anymore. Though I have endure 9 mths of shitwork, but what pissed me off is my own boss being such a coward and pleaser adn wacking us in front of our client!!!

My journey back in the cab yday nite was...hmmm...a very hungry one. Why? Coz the moment I board the cab till I alight, the conversation was where we can get good malay food. It all started when he ask me if I had been to the "new" Orchard Carpark for supper, den it went on to us discussing abt Mee Soto, Nasi Padang etc. According to him, the Best Mee Soto in S'pore is from Adam Road Hawker Center. This Husband-and-Wife Tag team can make "Power" Mee Soto, the chilli and soup is superb! Zion Road Blk 54 also serve the best Nasi Padang!

As I alight, the talk with him left me thinking that everyone of us, no matter how hard we hard, is all abt filling our stomach. Its all abt survival...Though is quite pathetic, but its a undenial truth. The only thing that we can make things better is to savour, enjoy and critic on the food....

went to grams place yday for dinner. She was complaining to me that her left hand is aching and is very painful for the past few days. I volunteer to rub some ointment for her and she agreed. After I'm done with her hand, she asked me to bring her into the room to rest. I noticed that her legs are a bit swollen. Asked her whether she wants me to massage her legs, she agreed. As I was rubbing, she fell asleep like a baby...

Recieved a bad piece of news Ah Boey's grandma was warded on Saturday. Apparently her condition was quite bad. She vomitted blood and the doctor told the family to prepare for the worse. Though I never seen her grams before, but from ah boey's description, she seems like jovial and healthy. I called boey a while ago, her grams refuse to do any scope and said that she wants to go home.

Whenever I hear any of my friends' families sick or warded, I always feel the pinch in the heart....

I pray that her grams will recover fast....

The advancement of technology

I'm sure all of us have called up helpdesk before. Before you can actually speak to the Customer Service Officer, they will make you press the number pad to acess to different section of the menu. Sometimes its very irritating, especially when its a pre-recorded voice machine answering to your enquery rather than human voice.

However, I've got a surprise when I called up Great Eastern Insurance a while ago. Instead of pressing onto the number pad to access the menu, they made you say the word out. For example, if you need to speak to the customer service officer, you just need to blurt the word "customer service" and they "lady" would put you through the customer service officer.

Although I felt its quite awkward at first, but it did save me going through the agony of listening to the list of menu and then pressing the number to make my selection. There's human touch to the whole enquiry process. It made me felt that I'm "talking" to the other party. Theres how IT has benifited human in our life....

Singapore Beat China in Badminton!!!

Good News from the Athens!!!

Singapore's Ronaldo Susilo beat China Lin Dan, World No. 1, in Men's Single Badminton Round 1/32 Preliminaries. Susilo took Set 1 15-12 and Set 2 15-10. There was a live telecast of the match on TV this morning at 12:20am. Watched the first set. Must admit that Susilo's performance was great. He didn't have much facial expression, just played the match in a lighthearted manner. Seems like he didn't feel much stress facing the World No. 1. Dozed off during the commercial break after Set 1 so didn't manage to catch the Set 2. But it was indeed a great job done. The Ladies from the Table Tennis squad also had great news. With great news from Badminton and Table Tennis, Im sure it will boost the morale of the Singapore Squad!!!

Went to Rochor for Tau Huay last night after the Firework festival. The group was chatting away when the uncle came over and chases us away. Apparently, we should leave once we finished our Tau Huay as other customers need to get seats. The strange thing is all of us guai guai listen to him and get out butt moving. None of us told him off which is quite an unusual sight. Its my first time been chase out of the shop. So embarrassing.

The firework display last night was very beautiful. The Hokkies definitely beat the Singapore Team! Currently my Yahoo! Photos have exceeded the file size, therefore I'm unable to upload the pix for your viewing pleasure! So guys pleas wait patiently will do some thing to it asap

Got a surprise sms from Gerri Jie Jie in Germany. Finally settle down in her new apartment. She finally get connected to the cyber world, all of us have been waiting patiently fro her blogger entry. I guess she is busying unpacking coz this morning when I logged on to her blog, again no entry sad sad

Jie dun worry, we will wait patiently oh ya I've recovered liaoz, although still having a slight running nose, my cough is much better now

The New Chapter of Singapore

12th August 2004, 7:50pm marks a historic moment of Singapore. This is the day where our PM Goh step down and pass the baton to BG Lee who will take over as Singaproe Third Prime Minister since Singapore's independences in 1965.

Mr. Goh will succed Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew's post and the latter's title will be Minister Mentor.

Dr. Tony Tan will remain as Deputy Prime Minister, who will retire in June 2005. Dr. Jayakuma has also been promoted as Deputy Prime Minister. He will take over the full swing after Dr. Tony Tan's retrement.

This day is also the Oath Taking Ceremony of other minister. In the new cabinet, there are two lady. It is a clear sign that Women has an equal stand in the politics. The whole ceremony was a short but solemn. Lead by Chief Justice Yong Pang How, the new cabinet took their oath.

Mr. Goh has been a great PM especially over the few years where Singapore is being hit badly by numerous globally event like the ecnomy downturn, the 911, the terrorism shadow, the SARS outbreak. He really did a great job.

As for our new PM, I do hope that he can do a better job, outshine his dad and Mr. Goh and lead Singapore to greater heights!!!

Enuff of all the political stuff, tomorrow morning at 1:45am, we will withness the live telecast of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics Games. I'm totally excited!!! So for the next 16 days, I will probably rush back home after work to catch the updates of the game... Can't wait to see my favourite sports like, Swimming, Diving, Gymnastics, Archery, Vollyball, and many more....

House of the Flying Dagger

I went ot watched the House of the Flying Dagger. Starring Takeshi Kaneshiro, Andy lau and Zhang Ziyi. Its a crap show! It s like an ancient time Infernal Affairs. No originality. I concluded that the moral of the story is Never Say Die!
The final fight out - Zhang Ziyi got stab is the chest, she said her "last words" the drop "dead" on the floor. Takeshi came back look for her and found her lying "dead" on the floor. She opened her eyes and said "Look back" There, stand Andy Lau waiting to kill Takeshi. After a damn long fighting ordeal, Andy decided to pluck out the dagger that was stuck behind his back, and use it to kill Takeshi. Suddenly, we see Zhang Ziyi standing up. She too wants to use the dagger that was stuck inside her chest to kill Andy Lau. She did pulled it out but didn't use that to kill Andy. She lost a lot of blood and drop "dead" on the floor. Takeshi was devasted and ran towards her and hugged her. Again, she open her eyes and talked to Takeshi.
Therefore, I concluded that no matter how many times u drop dead on the floor, you will always stay alive until you finish you last words with the male lead. Its a stupid lame movie! But, I must say the scenery is good. Friends, out there please only buy the pirated DVD or VCD. Its not worth spending 2 1/2 hrs in the cinema watching this movie!!!

Absent from work for 5 days is never good. Theres so much work to do, so much things to follow up.

My cough isn't getting any better, my lungs are almost coughed out. I can sense that everyone is the office don't dare to walk past my workstation. My workstation is one place you will walk past when you goes out of the office, go to the pantry, go the the meeting room or to the copier machine. Today, everyone is detouring.

at 5:00 plus, I decided that I should visit the doctor to get some cough syrup and lozengers. If not, I don'y think I can get any sleep tonight.

Happy Birthday Singapore

Happy 39th Birthday Singapore!!! This year National Day Parade will see Mr. Goh as Prime Minister for the last time. On the 12th August, he will step down and take over the post Senior Minister. Taking over his place is Mr. Lee Hsien Loon.

For the past 2 days, I've been playing mahjong. Saturday from 7:00pm till 3:00am and Sunday from 12:00am till 6:00am. So today I decided to stay at home and rest. I went to grams place for dinner.

The gang went to watch the first Singaproe Fireworks Festival at the Esplanade. The event is suppose to start at 8:30pm. In order to get good sits, we were there as early as 4:00pm. Well, we definetly got good sits cause all the fireworks were station right in front of us, so you can expect how spectacular the whole event was. The strench of Esplanade, S. Benjamin Bridge and the bridge towards Fullerton Hotel was packed with people. We are going this Sunday again.

This year National Day is quite different from the past year. There are a lot of celebration events going on. Over at the Marina, we have outdoor concert. Most of the boyband from Taiwan like 5566, R&B, Toro, Yan XingShu etc were here to perform. I guess because Mr. Lee hsien Loon is taking over the PM position so that might be the reason.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the National Day parade. I always love the march past and firework.

Happy Birthday Singapore!!!

The Charming Grin

This is the pix I'm talking about. When I called him, he turn back, smiled and waved at me

The burning sensation

I finally took the courage to rub salt on the damn ulcer.
Ouch! Words can't describe... Anyway it really helps, after like 5 mins of endurance, the ulcer close up but my lips were swelling. For a moment, I think I look like the sausager-mouth Tony Leung in the movie - The Eagle Shooting Heroes. After a while, the swell subside.
Unfortnately, my excitement didn't last very long. This morning whe I woke up to wash up, I realize that the stupid ulcer is back to attack! I couldnt believe it. This sickening ulcer is haunting me!!!
After consulting all my dear friends, they said that I should rub the salt for a few times. Its not a miracal healing method that after 1 time the ulcer would disappear... Ok I'll take their advice and try a few more times. This ulcer is making me very sick. I can't talk properly, eat properly and is sufering from pain... I might sound like a spoilt brat who keeps bitching about it. But the thing is I seldom has ulcer in my life, so I guess the attack is a one time hit...
signing off....clariss aka suffering the devil work of a damn ulcer
